My last Otterbox case had gripping material around the side and on the back in certain areas to help not drop the phone. The back of this case is completely smooth plastic but the front rim has grip all the way around so if you put it face down it isn't going anywhere. Just a minor thing.

Purchased this case for my daughter. I also purchased one for my new iPhone 6 (waiting to receive phone so that I can use it). The case offers very solid protection for the phone without being bulky. It wraps around the screen corners so that if the phone falls on the ground the screen will be protected. My daughter loves it.

I have been looking for a case that would be the best of both worlds for some time now, when I was introduced to the Symmetry Series for Apple iPhone from otterbox I fell in love. Being in a mostly Business environment having the normal bulky cases wouldn't work for me. I love this case and it has proven it's might a couple of times, I am guilty of having the phone in my top jacket pocket and I am glad to say the case has protected my phone from me.

All the usual protection but a much sleeker look. Good for corporate use where super-rugged protection is not required. I think Otterbox could still go one step thinner yet.

It's rugged but looks great. I've put my phone to the drop test a few times. I like that it's a one piece case with two layers of protection and that I don't have to fight with the cover on the charging port on the bottom, because it's open.
