This case is much easier to put on and take off of the phone with the same great protection of the Commuter series case. The light colors pick up the dye from denim too easy. They don't look very nice after being in a pocket for awhile.

I had both the Defender and the original Otterbox on my iPhone's in the past. The protection is amazing. I was ecstatic when I saw that they came out with the Symmetry line! It's the protection that you've come to trust from Otterbox without the bulk or annoyance of having to remove the cover to charge your phone or plug in your earbuds. Some people complain that they've taken these away but I love this model! The volume and on/off switch are still protected but I love the fact that the bottom is free from any protection as I noticed the rubber would stretch out a lot or even completely fall off from repeatedly moving it out of the way to access the ports to charge or listen to music. I picked the cheetah pink and I LOVE the color. Not as HOT pink as I was expecting it to be but still a great shade of a darker pink. So far so good - great job Otterbox! The only flaw I could see is the design that I picked out - I'm wondering if it will start chipping off ever as it appears they just overlayed the pattern onto the back of the phone case - only time will tell. If it holds up - I would change my rating to 5 stars!

I recently switched from a Defender to the Symmetry for mainly size. The Defender was bulky, and I liked the sleek more fasionable Symmetry. I don't think either of them will protect much against moisture; however, I feel they are equal for drop protection. The only slight downside of the Symmetry, is it's lack of grip like texture. If you set it down on an uneven surface, it goes flying; the Defender's silicone skin helps it stay put.
