I purchased the Otter Defender immediately after purchasing my iPad Mini. It is as goood as all the others since I always have used Otter Products starting with iPhone 1, IPad 1, iPhone 3, IPhone 5 and now the iPad Mini. Otter also has the best customer servive by far!
With the open circle to use the finger print id or whatever its called is dumb because it just lets dust and debris underweight the screen case. dust is getting ever where, but other than that flaw i am with with all other protections
I needed a phone case for my everyday construction jobs, and this case is a beast. On site! My team call the outterbox 5s case the gorilla clip lol. Best for everyday use.
Definately a well designed product, I wish a realtree version was available without the blaze orange, but definately very unique. Only problem I find is that the realtree surface is too smooth, not like my Iphone 4 realtree patter otterbox...
Lots of good stuff about the case you can read elsewhere so I'm skipping that stuff. The problem I have is the button to turn on or off the phone does not work well. The reason is it is poorly engineered - the extension below the button runs parallel to the phone's button when it should run perpendicular to make sure it actually pushes the phone's button.
My lab got my phone in the Otter box off my desk and chewed the holster, the neoprene cover and the orange box. The phone was not touched. I called Otter for parts to purchase and they sent me a new Otter box at no charge. You just can't beat that for a warranty.
I've tried other covers, but the otter box is the only one that I trust to protect my phone. For everyone in our family, it is an essential. I personally drop my phone weekly, sometimes from high levels and have never had a problem. On the rare occasion that one of them stretches out, Otterbox stands by their warranty 100%. If you want protection, this is definitely the cover to purchase. The only negative is the stretching of the outside material on some of the otterbox defenders.
