Best all around phone I've owned. Update not so

This has really been a great phone. I got mine right before a vacation last year, and took some great vacation shots. Pretty much everything about the phone I have been happy with, until this most recent update (4/22/15). Both my wife and I have the G3 and really appreciated the fact that we could view current alerts from the lockout screen without having to log onto the phone. Now, especially my wife when on the road, has to pull over and log on to see if she has any current texts or alerts that she may need to tend to. This is highly inconvenient that we cannot view alerts in the top toolbar any longer without logging in. Maybe there is something in system setup to get around this, but until we find it, we're bristling a bit. Other than that, I would highly recommend this phone. Without a doubt, the best phone that I've owned.

OUTSTANDING PRODUCT

I have been using the G3 for over a year with no issues call quality and all other features have been great. I had the misfortune of dropping my phone the other day and I proceeded to run over it with a tractor trailer (which I don't recommend). I picked up the phone and the screen was destroyed but to my surprise the phone rang and I found out that I was able to still call and receive calls by Bluetooth! Kudos to LG for making a product that could stand up to so much abuse. I have replaced the G3 with a G4 and will continue to buy LG products in the future.

Outstanding Phone Features.

My wife and I have had two LG G3 phones for about almost a year now. We love our phones because the camera is outstanding, the voice quality is superb and most of all LG has not forgotten us with updates. They are constantly improving these phones with updates that are innovative that make a great phone better. I would recommend these phones and the quality of this companies follow through of making the phones better. They just upgrade the phone for audio voice command to take pictures. Outstanding.

This phone is one of the better phones I have ever bought. Videos run smooth on the screen. Very Durable, stock android OS, no bloatware and very fast. As with most phones, battery life leaves something to be desired.

Beautiful.

I bought this phone because I needed a phone that day and it e was the only one available at the store. However, it has turned out to be my cell phone yet and I have owned most of the big name brands and popular phones.
Even after having this phone for a few months the battery still lasts for a long time, it charges fast, and I have no problems with finicky cord connections like with some other phones. It still runs fast and has lots of memory.
It took me a while to get used to having the buttons on the back, but now I love having them there! This phone is beautifully designed and also has a beautiful UI.
I love my G3 and am definitely making LG my first choice when I look for electronics in the future.

LOVED this phone until the new update to 6.0

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This phone was amazing, favorite I have ever had, not a single complaint. Once the new update came out it no longer would read my SIM card at all. Now, after nearly a month of being strung through the mud on whether Verizon would replace it (I have total mobile protection on it) they are not willing to replace. Obviously this is a software/hardware malfuction and yet no one will take responsibility for it. I was a huge LG fan but now I'm rethinking it!

This phone is a piece of junk

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have 2. One keeps "loosing" it's sim card. The other dismounts the SD card and randomly freaks out. Unfortunately both are just out of the warranty period.

I want to love it.

I use this phone constantly for work and daily life. This is going to be a review on the phone as a tool, not as a selfie camera.
This phone is comfortable to use, sits well in the hand, and seems smaller than it is due to the tiny bezels. It is physically designed spectacularly. But it is slick, a case is highly recommended.
Within a day I had scratched the screen, before the protector had gotten to me.
I love the screen, the 4k screen is amazing, super clear, bright, everything you want. I would trade it for the Samsung Note 3 screen in a second. I use it as an alarm clock and it is backlit so it lights up my whole room and no way to dim it. The Super AMOLED only lights the lettering, not the black. Plus a standard 1080 would only help with battery life.
Battery life is awesome. I remove it from the charger at about 7:30 and it doesn't need recharged for about 13 hours. I have it hooked up to 2 bluetooth devices, one for calls and one for music. I take notes, call, text, map, google, ect. all day for work. Occasionally play some games. Get a littler lower rez screen and you could easily ad a few more hours to it. No one would notice
The stock apps are OK. I actually really like the note taking app, Quickmemo+, I didn't even need to download another, totally blows away S Notes.
The music player is terrible, but most stock ones are. Will not read standard M3U files for playlists, takes all my well organized files and messes them up. Removes or changes artists, song names, album names.
The dual screen is kinda dumb. Tried to use it but could not maximize fully, just made it bigger. I do like the mini apps and the fact you can make them transparent.
Things like Qslide in the notification bar could be good, but everyone I know has just turned it off. But how the sound and brightness is laid out I really like, especially how they can be removed. I do wish the Battery Savings notification could be removed.
NFC works great for purchasing, and google wallet works, a big reason for me to buy, but only works so so for file transfer. File transferring, which I do a lot, leaves a lot to be desired, no one has figured this out to a good extent. I usually comes down to bluetooth or linking to G Drive. There are a lot of options but none truly work. I ended up using a 3'rd party app to transfer over wifi.
Wireless charging, NOT INCLUDED. I got it working by purchasing the part from china. No one has a wireless charging back to just BUY. Not even LG. This is a big reason I bought this phone, because it was supposed to have included, I even asked the Verizon rep. But the US customers are generally taken highly advantage of anyway when it comes to this.
Since this is a Verizon phone, scheduled messaging has been removed, why? Downloaded a 3'rd party app to fix.
The stock launcher is quite nice, especially with knock. Did not even mess with the animation scale. It's smooth, transitions well, I almost contemplated not downloading another. It's got a 5x5 grid and most apps are 4 wide, so there is a gap, a big ugly gap. I could not live with that. This is probably one of the best stock launchers I have used.
There was quite a few times I reached for the pen that does not exist. This phone is screaming for one, I think it would do better with a pen than the Note series.
The auto dimmer is quite efficient, works fast and well. But the sensor needs moved, if you are holding it in landscape mode the finger tends to cover it
This is quite a good phone that could be awesome if it could get out of it's own way. LG has definitally made a winner.
