Requires Reboot every few days

We got this fridge when we built our new home. It sure looks good and works well for our family. But within 5 months we noticed the fridge lights and the outside water dispenser were not working. Basically the fridge stopped working. My husband tried to turn the power off from the Junction box and turn it back on and viola! it worked again. But then the same issue happened within 3 days and once again we rebooted it through the Junction box. It has now happened 3 - 4 times within 2 weeks and not sure what the issue is. For an expensive refrigerator such as this, this really doesn't speak quality.

Very disappointed!

We first purchased this refrigerator Labor Day weekend. Three months later we are still trying to get a properly working fridge. The first one had some sort of motor/compressor issue. When it kicked on a loud metallic sound (like heavy rain on a tin roof) could be heard through the entire house. So a replacement was ordered. The replacement worked great but had a huge ding on the left side door. A replacement door was then ordered. Unfortunately, when it was installed yesterday there was apparently an unknown defect in the new doors wiring which blew some connections to the existing cabinet of the fridge. So the fridge still cools but the water dispenser and LCD screen no longer work. We love, love love the features on the fridge and want it to work out, but this is getting to be a bit much. However, because we love the features so much, we are going to give it one more try. Fridge number three has now been ordered and we have our fingers crossed for a properly working/ ding free replacement this time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Profile French door is noisy, stainless is thin and ice & water dispenser scratch at a touch of a plastic class . I would not bought it had I been informed that this model had these problems.

Looks nice; huge

This refrigerator has plenty of room in the fridge and in the freezer.
The cons are that the crushed ice spews all over the floor so you have to hold the glass tight against the dispenser; the water dispenser drips and leaves ugly water marks; the ice compartment door sticks and ice forms around the door - even tho we had a new door installed. The hot water takes 7 minutes to heat (although we were told that the second cup would be faster) - really not worth it.

Bought this online with only the most basic research. I had to select all-new appliances for a new house. My (wife’s) criterion was the lower freezer and mine was that it fit the custom housing. It was delivered to the kitchen floor and I had to “install” it. That meant attaching the water supply (which I had bought earlier), plugging it in, pushing it into the space, and leveling/ securing with adjustable front feet. Wow features, capacity, appearance. Fav feature is Keurig, we start the heater for coffee on our phone from bed and when it beeps I go get two coffees. This is in our lake house and when we go there we bring a lot of food and beverages. I can set “turbo cool” and the groceries get chilled fast. The features really fit our needs.

LCD screen does not work

Bought a new model # PFE28RSHGSS and after 13 months the LCD screen does not work. Can not reset any functions on refrigerator and features are inoperable.

So Far Its Great

I recently remodeled my kitchen and looked quite awhile for the right appliances. I love the GE with Keurig as it takes one appliance from my countertop. I was a little hesitant thinking it might not work well, or break. I've been using now for 6 months and I love it. It takes a little while to heat just like the Keurig on your countertop, but without having to refill the water or take up space. You can adjust to use just hot water 8-10 oz. I would have liked 6 oz, but Keurig doesn't have that either. It's convenient and while there are not 2 exterior drawers on the bottom (not available anywhere is Calif), I've found that the double interior drawers work better than I expected. The icemaker works great and you can tell how much water you're dispensing which eliminates having to measure. There is also more interior space than I thought. I really love my new fridge and hope that it continues to work well for many years. The only downside is it shows fingerprints more than my old white fridge.
