I've used other cases before for previous phones, but I always went back to the otter box defender. While it isn't waterproof (which is why i've tried other cases intially) it's impact protection is second to none. Lifeproof is great for dust and moisture, but if you were to drop it (which i would assume constitutes the majority of damage to mobile phones) it doesn't provide a fraction of the protection of the defender series from Otter Box. What I LOVE about the new iPhone 6 case is the slimmed down frame. It's no longer as bulky as previous iPhone cases were. Yet, the protection seems to be far from compromised. I doubt that I will ever use anything but Otter Box for my 'mobile electronics protection' needs.
Pros: High quality, Durable, slimmer than previous models
I have been using Otter Box cases for years. From my iPhone 4, 5 and now 6 I have yet to break a phone. I work in a manufacturing environment, which is dirty and hard on equipment, with drops etc. To date, haven't lost a phone yet! My family all has them from my Dad to my kids. 1st thing we do when we get a new phone, is to buy an Otter Box!
I always get camo case for my iPhones. This new design is much more rigid for the iPhone 6 compared to the iPhone 4. It's harder, so I guess that means better drop protection. BUT this has made the volume buttons EXTREMELY hard to push. Not very user friendly. The iPhone 4 case has softer rubber which made the buttons way easier to push.
This is my 2nd OtterBox & I love the protection they provide. I've dropped my iPhone on concrete several times, unscathed. I have had a problem with the OtterBox that I just bought for my iPhone 6 because the membrane that covers the fingerprint ID has developed a wrinkle 3 different times, which disables the fingerprint recognition.
Love the graphic design of the case. Get lots of compliments. It has bounced down a set of cement stairs and phone and case survived unharmed. Only issue is buttons on sides are quite hard to depress. A light press does not do it. Case could have been a little bit tighter fit so buttons would be easier to use.
