worked great, small issue

This case worked great for me except the case cracked at the bottom where the headphone jack is. It still works great and protects the phone, but it's annoying. Same thing has happened on other cases I've had. I cut out the rubber piece that covers the phone jack and charger port so I can't speak to how they fit. There seems to be some complaints about that on here.

The case is very attractive and easy to hold yet it completely protects the iPhone. I was looking for something that would give me protection but not be so bulky to easily hold while using the iPhone. This case fits the bill perfectly. I do wish there were more colors to choose from but I love bright colors. My husband has one too and he likes the dark colors so we are both pleased with the case.

I have always used Otter Box's for my cell phone and family members. I had read reviews of the plastic outer case not fitting properly on the IPhone. Also, the opening at the bottom does not line up to plug in ear buds. I was so anxious to get this and now I'm worried if I do drop it accidently, the misfit will not protect the phone. I may have to go back to the temporary one I purchased at store till this one came.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’re sorry to see that your confidence in the OtterBox Commuter isn’t anywhere as high as we’d like, but we’d certainly love the chance to turn this around for you. Sometimes it can take a few attempts at installation to get the silicone slip and the outer shell of the case to fit together just so. We recommend placing the iPhone inside the slip, and then setting that into the shell, bottom first, and then working your way up the sides unilaterally. If you find that you’re just not getting a flush fitting, then please feel free to give our friendly Otter tailors a call at 1-855-688-7269, and we’ll be more than happy to get you outfitted with a warranty replacement that we’re confident won’t give you any issues. As for the alignment on the headphone jack port door, the hole in the slip cover is actually over the small noise-canceling microphone by design, rather than the headphone port, so you should be all good there. Let us know if you need any more help!

Love this case. looks great, not sticky when I put it in my pocket or purse, has a nice feel in my hand. Edge comes up over the side so it's protective if I drop the phone on its front. Holds 3 credit cards or 2 cards and a couple of folded bills.

I have used the Commuter case for more than 3 years now - my first case lasted over two years with my iPhone 4s (it finally cracked and I replaced the case - but hey, two years is fabulous). The replacement case is still working (now on my mom's iPhone), more than a year in. I now have a Commuter case for my iPhone 6, and I couldn't be more satisfied! I prefer it over the Defender (a bit bulky for my pocket). While not waterproof, I am careful with such an expensive device not to expose it to too much water. I cannot count how many times I've dropped the phone, but the case has protected it just fine! It is, and has been, perfect for me for over 3 and half years! I even got a cute little decal for the back to jazz it up! :)
