When I bought the otter defender series, I was told by friends that the holster is the toughest and bullet proof.. My friends were not lying, used everyday, on & off several times a day, dropped,(my fault), back on the belt..truly a great holder.. The best customer service you will ever find.. thanks for a great item....bob

I have had a number of otter box defenders and they have protected my phone a number of times , I use the belt holster often , a few weeks ago I clipped it in the holster and the phone fell to the floor , the clip part at the top had cracked and allowed the phone to fall out . I just bought this replacement and will ensure it's solid before go anywhere as I don't want to lose my phone , the phone case itself has been great
I would still recommend the box to friends not sure about the belt holster

We're so sorry to hear that the Defender's rubber slipcover is not fitting your iPhone! The Defender itself does actually come with two pieces: it should have a hard inner shell that encompasses the phone, and then the rubber slipcover that stretches over the back of the plastic. Without the hard inner shell, the rubber alone will be slightly too loose - is this what you are experiencing? If so, no worries at all! Our awesome Otters will be happy to help. Below you will find a link for what the Defender is supposed to look like all together, as well as a second link to a page where you can purchase just the inner lid/base separately. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us at 1-855-688-7269, and we'll be glad to further assist you with this!

Debating returning this item... it seems when I just preliminary looked it over, and tried it on a few minutes, that the whole thing weights so much on top of the phone weight, that I don't know that it will comfortable for my wrists... while looking protective and durable... not sure. Disappointed that you have to go looking up how to install it.. it came in it's pieces/ in plastic slip bags, thrown into a parcel post envelope. For someone who is starting out with this stuff, it was a let -down. I'm debating the return for all these reasons. thanks for listening.

There is no protector for the camera pretty difficult to get the charger cord in I mainly wanted it to protect the camera this doesn’t protect anything to do with the camera I do construction didn’t want camera lens scratched

The back outer slipcover does provide clearance for the camera, but certainly, a direct hit could potentially cause the issue you're concerned about.
