I ordered the commuter series back in October when I received my iPhone 6. Loved the color (customized with Aqua Blue & Gray) and honestly it worked well the first two months. I then ordered a tempered glass screen protector from verizon to put over top and less than two weeks later the tempered glass cracked when I dropped it in my work parking lot. Unfortunately that wasn't the last time I experience an issue with the case, a few months later a crack appeared on the corner which continued to grow. Last but not least I experience a scratch mark (luckily not a cracked screen) when my friend accidentally knocked my phone off a picnic table and on to the concrete below. I wanted the commuter case because it was slimmer and the best option for protection but now I regret not having a more durable case. The commuter series should be cheaper in price if it is going to have issues with the hard outercase cracking and not fully protecting the screen :(
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While we can certainly appreciate a degree of frustration, it actually sounds to us like the case and the tempered glass screen protector functioned as intended, seeing as how there was no damage to your actual device. Was the screen protector that you purchased from Verizon the OtterBox Alpha Glass, or was the piece manufactured by a third party? If you purchased the OtterBox screen protector, then it is fully covered under our warranty, as is the outer shell of the Commuter, which you mentioned has cracked. This is the third iteration of iPhone I've kept in an Otterbox Defender Series case. Every time I've upgraded the phone, the old one comes out of the case looking brand new, which is great for resale value.

From the stellar customer service to a quality product, I recommend this company wholeheartedly. I'm very happy with my purchase and enjoy the look of my iPhone 6 (white, with gold back). The blues look great with both the gold back and white front of my phone (this photo is with a black phone from the site).
My prior case was very slippery and starting (in less than a year) to discolor. Plus I wanted my iPhone to feel a bit more secure in my hand, but did not want anything too bulky for my purses.
The color options were fun; I chose something that was professional looking, but not just.

This product is colorful, versatile, heavy duty and a fun design.
Have been using these covers for iPhones for several years and can say that they hold up very well under heavy use. My sister bought an Otterbox case for her iPhone 6 in the Defender and with continual use in her classroom of 20 kids she says it protects the phone with constant handling.
I bought the Commuter case for my new iPhone 6S after I my previous iPhone 5S got water damage in a surprise rain storm. I know the Commuter case is not fully waterproof, but it will keep the iPhone safe from bumps and accidental dropping.
Only drawback is the plastic display film, that comes with the case, I find too hard to put on the phone without getting air bubbles under the film, so I don't use it.
Having said that, love the color choices and the fact that you can buy either the slipcover or the shell pieces separately. Check them out, they are one of the few solid cases on the market!

I always purchased an otterbox for each of my iphones, and for those of my family, and have always been happy with the Defender. I often recommended the Defender to friends...until I got one for my iphone6s......the screen protector does not lie flat on the screen, making use of the touch screen very difficult...bad design...for the price, I would expect a little better quality, as had been the case in the past

I like the case besides the screen protector. It's fine for the first few days, then it bubbles up from the screen making you have to push harder to work your phone. Aggravating when typing.
This is my 3rd case within a year. I was hoping they would fix it by now.
