I purchased the Otter Box IPhone 6S case as a gift for a friend of mine who happens to be a rancher. So far through falls out of his pocket and a general solid banging around, the phone has been protected. I also purchased the product in a bright color so that he could find it if it fell out of his pocket into a snowdrift.

Purchased this for my iPhone 6s. Couldn’t type at all. Need to press very hard. Couldn’t scroll. Awful! I have the otter box defender for my iPad and love it no problems. But for the iPhone, just doesn’t work!

Case Doesn't Fit

The soft part of the case does not fit snug to the phone, and the part that is supposed to cover the headphone port only covers half of it. The hard outer shell does not fit either, the shell is too long and the corners on the top do not even touch the rubber sleeve. I do not feel safe carrying my brand new iPhone in this case.
Pros: good access to buttons
Cons: Low quality, too loose, does not fit

I purchased this case with high expectations because the quality of the other three I have bought with them have been great. When it arrived, I put it on my phone and realized that there was a large gap between my phone screen and the screen protector. I could barely use my phone because of this.
I sent a warranty claim and was sent a new one, but there was a gap between the protector and my phone again. The gap was smaller but it still makes my phone hard to use.
It is very disappointing that this case doesn't work well. I have never had any issues with my three previous otterboxes.

can't get a grip

After using the Defender Series on all of my past phones, I decided to try the Commuter this time. One design flaw (or may be just a fluke with mine) is that the shell doesn't quite fit over the slip cover perfectly.
Otherwise the rest of this review is my experience... I don't feel like I get a secure enough grip on the phone since the part that you're mostly gripping onto is the plastic shell rather than the rubber slip cover. It doesn't have the same grip as the Defender does, which has the slip cover on the outside. Also, without the bulk that the Defender has, my hands are uncomfortable texting on a phone in a thinner case like this. I have long fingers, though, so this may be the reason for me, personally. Like I said, this is just my own experience while using the Commuter. I think I am going to return it and get a Defender because I prefer the bulk of it and the more secure grip I have with that case.
I wish there was a "maybe" choice on whether you recommend this to a friend. because it really has to do with personal preference.

terrible fit

i have had otterbox products in the past and have liked them very much. i saw poor reviews on the website for the commuter case regarding the fit, but thought that there were so few reviews compared to how many have been sold that i would order it and see for myself. the corners and along the bottom where the soft part meets the hard part do not meet up, leaving large gaps that look bad. like others have said, the case feels loose around the phone as well. this is a very poor quality case compared to other commuter cases i've had in the past and i am very disappointed.

Cheap looking, doesn't fit properly

First, the picture on the website give the impression that the outer shell is metallic, definitely not. The white outer shell I got looks cheap and doesn't fit properly. The edges don't line up and overall, the case looks terrible. I love Otterbox, but I don't know how this case is in production. It's terrible. I will be returning both cases I ordered. For the amount of money you're paying, they really should take a little more time to produce a case that actually fits and looks like the pictures on their website.
Cons: Low quality, Not durable, doesn't fit!

Egh, but can't complain about customer service

I was really excited when I ordered my otterbox for my iPhone 6. It arrived in the mail and I put on the case and thought it looked weird. The slipover cover did not fit into the shell cover. I thought that was kind of weird but wouldn't mind it so much if the cover on my headphone jack wasn't half exposed. So I called customer service and they were sorry that it was like this. They said they would send me the newest updated version. But whoever made this slipcover miscalculated where the headphone jack would be. I would recommend otterbox to anyone, just not this case.
Pros: Durable
Cons: poorly made
