Good, but not great.

I have owned a few different Otterbox cases and the Commuter series has been my favorite by far. The Commuter on my iPhone 4s was fantastic and I was hoping for the same on the iPhone 6 version. Unfortunately it isn't quite as good. The case is a bit loose at the top and the headphone port cover only covers half of the hole. While these are relatively minor flaws, I have come to expect only outstanding products from Otterbox. I would say that this case is probably better than most of the other options available but I think these issues need to be addressed. It seems like in the rush to get the cases out as soon as possible, some quality was compromised. Hopefully the people at Otterbox will hear these concerns (I've seen a lot of other reviews that mention the same issues) and update the case.
Pros: High quality, Durable
Cons: poor fit

I just got my case today, and I really should have read the reviews before ordering... Alas, I didn't, or I would have been aware of the poor design and fit. Like a previous reviewer stated, the shell doesn't fit snugly around the rubber part. It looks like it was cut too small at the top and bottom (around the corners) and too big on the sides. My business card can comfortably fit in the spaces on the sides. The rubber also covers at least half of the port for the headphones, so it's a good thing I never use those... I can't speak for the screen protector that comes with it since I'm using another brand's. All that being said, I'm still going to use it because it feels a lot better in my hand, less slippery than the Incipio one I was using. My phone does feel sturdier with this case now. However, I'm still going to be on the lookout for something better.
Pros: snug on the actual phone
Cons: pieces fit together poorly, poor design

Not quite the same quality...

My case seems to be a few mm's too big, and as such there's a gap between the hard plastic outer shell and the rubber inner case. Not what I would expect for a case this expensive!
Cons: poor fit

Best protection there is

I am now on my 3rd or 4th commuter case. My phone goes through A LOT on a daily basis, and this case constantly saves my phone. My phone fell from bleachers 25 feet onto concrete covered by a layer of dirt, and the phone was completely fine- there was a small dent on the corner of the otterbox case. Another time my phone got run over by a car. The case was destroyed, and my screen was shattered, but the phone was still operable. My cousin needed a new phone, so we replaced the screen and gave the phone to him. I will only buy Otterboxes.

Purchased this case, and have no doubt my phone is close to unbreakable. It is very robust and still has a high level of functionality. However, the plastic screen is very poorly glued and dust gets in so easily. I work on a construction site and dust is an unavoidable part of my environment. By the end of the day there is a large amount of dust between my phone's screen and the the screen protector. I can feel the grit between the two and over time my phone's screen will show damage. At the end of every day I need to take my case apart and clean it and my phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my third Otterbox Defender case, and they just keep getting better. This latest one, for my iPhone 6s, seems less chunky, but just as sturdy. My phone takes a real beating, so a chic case isn't my top priority. In all the drops, smashes, bounces, etc. that my phones have endured, Otterbox has prevailed. Fan for life!
