Case does not even fit iPhone

I bought my Commuter series case when I bought my iPhone 6. I swore by the Otterbox Commuter with my iPhone 5. I was so disappointed with this case on the iPhone 6. It didn't keep the snug fit on the phone. I am completely disappointed. Since the Commuter case took care of my iPhone 5 I didn't even shop around, I went for another Commuter Case for my iPhone 6. Live and learn. Two of my family members have also had this problem with Commuter Case. I guess next time we'll be researching. Guess all 3 of the cases will live in a drawer.

disappointing

I am usually a huge fan of otterboxes, I've had one on every phone I've ever had and they have been a lifesaver as far as protecting my phones. I got an iPhone 6 recently and expected that this would be the same level of amazing. I was so wrong!! There were gaps between the layers and it did not fit my phone at all. I thought I may have been putting it on wrong, had a few people try to fix it for me. Check the other reviews online, they will agree with me. I returned it after one day because I thought that if it didn't fit my phone right the first time, I don't want to risk damaging my phone. I do not recommend this case at all and am highly disappointed.

It does what it says in the name!

I bought this Defender case to protect my 6s which I use for work. My work as a plumber/heating Engineer means the cover takes a beating when it's in my pocket. I've dropped the phone a few times and there's been no problems. The cover does get dusty and covered in dirt from being handled and wiped clean. My only issues are the opening for the ear speaker and the on the front and the covering over the charging point. The ear opening allows dust and dirt to gather over the screen where it's not protected and over the course of a few days the dust does make its way under the protective screen which then requires the whole cover to be removed for cleaning. Also the Lightning charging point cover has to be opened to insert the charging cable, obviously, over the few months I have had this case. It is now causing the case rubber to distort slightly which can leave the rubber edge standing up slightly which then gets peeled back when it's pulled out of my pocket.
Overall it's a good product.

Hard shell design flaw

There is a design flaw with this product. The hard shell has a very small piece attached between the audio and power inputs at the bottom and with slight amount of use has snapped completely off. I've only had the case for just over 2 months and never dropped or misused it once. Very disappointed
Pros: Durable
Cons: Low quality

Don't Love It But Don't Hate It

The case serves it's purpose for sure - best protection I've ever had for a phone. This is my third OtterBox product and I've always loved them, but this one seems a bit off. The plastic shell doesn't sit as snugly with the rubber sleeve as one would expect or as my other models did. There is a bit of a gap between the plastic and the rubber at all four edges where the plastic wraps up toward the screen. Also, the included screen protector is terrible. The one I received is not cut straight and doesn't even cover the entire screen. Could not make it look straight to save my life. Overall I'm happy with the case, just wish the quality was par with the price.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quality has gone way down

I used to love the products made by Otterbox. i owned the commuter cases for the iphone 4s which still look and protect the phone as when first taken out of the box. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the iphone 6 case the plastic by the headphone port is flimsy and keeps breaking, i was dumb enough to buy another case when it initially broke and guess what it broke again. never again, im going with a new company as i cannot believe the case broke twice in the same spot on two different cases, big waste of $$$. shoddy poorly made junk!

I didn't think I would like this case as much as I do. Otterbox has made improvements since my iPhone 5S Defender case. The case now covers the Home button. This means that cleaning fluid can't get between the screen protector and iPhone necessitating taking the phone out of the case, and cleaning the inside. It is also considerably slimmer than the iPhone 5S with case, even more so than the reduction in phone thickness would suggest. The outer rubber is harder and I like it better. I like the integral screen protector over a separate screen protector. It is seamless rather than having an edge like my wife's protector on her iPhone 6. That would bother me. My only complaint is that the screen protector could have a smoother touch like a glass screen protector. All of the ports have rubber plugs like other Defender cases. The Lightning cover is large enough to accept third party Lightning cables. In other cases the port is too small. Overall I am very pleased with this case.

You use this case because you want to carry your phone everywhere, and you know that inevitably it's going to be dropped, sat on, have things spilled on it, etc.
Do you want your phone to last the length of your contract, and beyond? This case will let it do that, and still give you easy access to all of the controls and features of the phone.
There's one drawback: it turns a very slim, light-weight and elegant product into a brick. For me, it was a worthwhile trade-off.
