Poorly manufactured

This compactor's drawer does not close squarely to its housing. Therefore, it is damaging adjacent cabinetry. Definitely not Six Sigma quality.

Not much to say about a trash compactor is there ? It looks nice and compacts like every other one I've ever had, and as noisy as every one I have ever had.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Trash compactor is too loud, doesn't compact as well as my last one, when closing feels like its made poorly….

Owned a g e compactor in the past and purchased the newer one for our new home but it is not the quality I expected from GE

Only compacts the trash a little, therefore does not hold as much trash as I would have hoped. My last compactor really packed it down. Also, unless you close it with force, the compactor pedal does not pop into place for compacting

Disappointing

The compacting ability of this unit is very poor. In addition, the front is not truly stainless steel but some sort of plastic stainless steel finish. The streaks created from just water drips are very difficult to remove even with recommended cleaners. As a result the unit is maintenance. Mounting bolts were missing from the installation package and we waited weeks for them to arrive. The unit was recommended by a salesperson and instead of looking at reviews online I trusted the advice in error. Also, the trash bag caddy for the unit is an additional expense. Purchased a GE to support U.S. made products, but the quality of this trash compactor is very disappointing.

Too pricy for a basic dated product, wobbly door handle, does not have an air filter to keep odor out.

Very Basic Compactor

I purchased this unit during a kitchen remodel. Extremely high priced unit with no additional options. Just a simple unit with a foot petal to energize the compactor. The door is not well made, it appears to be for light use and very noisy. I already had to have this unit serviced before its first use because the plunger wouldn't plunge. The motor would run but nothing would happen. The service man came out a week later and could not find anything wrong with it but it did start working for him. Lets hope it will continue to work. This compactor is not recommended for heavy use as it seems to be very delicately made compared to other units I had in the past.
