Frustrating freezer baskets!

I have had this fridge for 9 years,Though I should have written this review on day one. The freezer baskets are horrible! As soon as you put 1 lb of weight in it, it fall off the rails and is stuck lopsided. You would have to remove what you put in there to reset it, just to fall down on the rest of the freezer food, making the wire baskets useless! This basket is a few millimetres to short for the width. These are heavy duty wire baskets so it does not appear it can shrink with use. The plastic panel in front of it broke after a few months because it has tiny clips that hold the wire basket. How can you manufacturer these short in width! If it was a little wider, I would have never have falling wire baskets!
I come to this page because now the meat drawer is now warmer than the rest of the unit and has spoiled several times drawers full of meat! I am quite disappointed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor Workmanship Freezer and Less Usable Space

I have owned this side-by side now for three now and I am extremely disappointed. I should have written this before now but I feel others should know my frustrations. I replaced ALL of my white kitchen appliances with the GE Profile stainless steel (we went for the look of the GE). I do not know how GE equates their Cu. footage, but I went from a WP side-by-side which measured .1 cu.ft. less that the GE yet when I transferred the contents of the WP to the GE, I lost 1 full shelf in the fridge and 1-1/2 shelves in the freezer.
Now for the problem with the freezer. The shelf and basket designs are horrible. The middle shelf and the two baskets below that shelf will not hold any weight. They always fall out of the plastic grooves on the inside of the freezer. The only basket that stays in place is on the bottom because it has reinforced plastic slides.
So if you are upgrading your side-by-side refrigerator and don’t mind having less refrigerator and freezer space along with the freezer shelves supported by your food…go for it…otherwise stay away.

Great Refrigerator...Slow icemaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the look and interior space provided by this refrigerator; however, the icemaker is INCREDIBLY slow. This model even has a button for "Quick Ice, " which we have on all of the time, still, we are constantly running out of ice and have to wait, sometimes hours, for a few cubes to mainfest themselves for use. I don't believe that we use ice at a quicker rate than any other three-person family. I have to say that slow ice production is the ONLY aspect for which we have an issue. Great refrigerator, bad icemaker.

Not happy with quality and working of features

Whenever it runs there is a vibrating noise from inside it that sounds like a mad bumble bee. It stops if open freezer door. We have removed and rearranged all the food in the unit. Still there. Very disturbing at night.
The temperature display on the door doesn't know what the temperature is inside the refridgerator. Set temp is at 0 frzr, 37 frdge. The door actual temperature says 0 frzr, 37 fridge(a couple times has shown 36). always.
We put 2 digital thermometers in fridge. One on top of crisper. It reads 34-45. The other one is on top shelve)15" apart). It reads 38-48. We have even switched the thermometers to check them and they each end up reading what the other one read.

This GE Profile Refrigerator's stainless steel finish looks great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our household consists of five adults constantly in and out of the fridge. We have had this PSHS6PGZSS unit about 2.5 months. The LED lighting is really great, but when the LED's burn out only GE service can replace them. We found the unit to have a smaller capacity than its GE profile predeceser. New unit doesn't hold as much as the identical GE unit it replaced. The materials (drawers and shelves) have a plastic (cheap) feel. Unit is very noisy and loud. When it runs, It sounds like we have a cricket in the house. We can even hear it run when we are upstairs. Apparently we open and close the unit alot and as a result it runs seemingly all the time. At times, frost flakes appear in the freezer compartment because we open the door. Both doors squeak everytime the doors are opened and closed. Something to do with the rollers. Owners manual says all of this is normal. The Arctica ice maker is fantastic.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice refrigerator but...

Less than 5 yrs old and already has cracks on the inside. When we bought a new build home and saw it had GE Profile appliances I was over the moon. However, this is not the quality I expected from GE. Very dissapointed to see this type of flaw.

Good fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good fridge. The lights on every shelf make it feel futuristic. The LED that shows the temp inside for both sides is nice. The Super cool button is good in case you have left the fridge open for a few moments. The shelves are easy to take out and clean. The tape that was on the movers boxes stuck to the side and left some adhesive on the outside of the fridge. Its a nice fridge.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new GE profile refrigerator. It has a very pleasing look to it. I also like the exterior water and ice dispenser. Very convenient. The only con is that it is not the best at dispensing the ice whether it is cubed or crushed. Pretty slow and seems to struggle with both functions. Other than that it seems to work well. It is also very spacious.
I would recommend this to a friend!
