Product has problems - makes noises when running

I like this refrigerator EXCEPT for a major problem with "popping" noises when it runs. The sound resembles air bubbles popping in the coolant line. I've had two service calls to try and fix the problem. I was told both times this is a normal issue with the new coolants that are being used in refrigerators. GE is totally aware of this problem and tries to explain that it should be expected. I'm very disappointed that the problem cannot be fixed. I would not buy this unit again, nor any GE product. (Btw, I know others who have brand new non-GE refrigerators and they are not experiencing this noise problem.) Do not buy this GE unit; you'll be annoyed by the popping sounds!

Bottom Freezer Rules

This is my first GE product and so far I am quite happy with my refrigerator purchase. The bottom freezer with french doors works well in my small kitchen. The food compartments are well lit and layed out to maximize storage space. The unit is very quiet even while the ice maker is operating. My old one was very noisy at all times, nice change! Getting a black refrigerator is also a first for me. The finish on this GE is awesome, like a mirror. This is day one and all is well with my new GE. If things change, I will surely update my review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this fridge. I could of purchased a larger capacity a couple features I preferred and lower price with another brand. However, I am GE appliance believer. My father worked for GE for many years before retiring. I debated on other brands due to price but had to come back to my roots and go for the quality GE still provides.
Love the french doors, no more science experiments in the fridge as every leftover is now in eyesight and deposed of timely.
Would like to see a divider in the freezer section.

The french doors are something I cannot believe I ever lived without! no more "mystery food"...You can see it all. AND there is no bending! The ice maker is a so convenient! Stops making it when the container is full...no rogue ice cubes in the freezer.

Sticking with GE

There are three major reasons we bought this - first is that we had a GE that just died on us after 20+ years of use - second is the online research we did while looking for a replacement. The third is that we wanted to make sure be bought and Energy Star rated refrigerator. We wanted a refrigerator that had duel controls and also wanted it to look nice. This met those criteria and beyond. It came with the ice maker and the shelving flexibility that we loved with our old GE refrigerator.

Love this product! Great look and performance for the money! Was delivers on a Thurs. had a major storm on Fri. Went 2 days without power and didn't loose a thing!! Way to go GE!! Would highly recomend this refridgerator!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You cannot beat a fridge with the double doors and drawer freezer. So much room and efficient use of shelves and space on the inside. Plus, the slick shiny black finish makes you look legit.
This fridge is boss and you need to get it!
