Outstanding picture quality. Many images so lifelike they are almost 3D, especially during certain movies and HD television broadcasts. It's like standing next to the characters you're watching. Speakers not great but with a quality 5.1 surround system, who cares. Definitely suggest this TV to anyone wanting a truly premium sports, movie, or gaming experience.
Pros: best picture i've ever seen.
Cons: speakers not great but that's about it !

This 60" Sharp replaces a 56" DLP. The real surprise is the 240MHz refresh rate. It makes a huge difference in the quality of the image. Combine the exceptional picture with the very reasonable price and you have a real value.

Best in Class

This is an exceptional TV for the price. IT is the best in class for this type of technology. It is alittle heavier and thicker because it is not the LED technology but that LED technology has blooming and edge problems. Problems not found in a mature and well-done technology of this LCD.
Pros: great picture
Cons: no cons

aquos lc60

Overall a good product. I picked the aquos because its screen was one of the least reflective since it's in a room with lots of windows. However the frame is too shiny and reflects light which is annoying and detracts from the picture on the screen. Would be much better if the frame was non-reflective matte black. Also, since I have mounted it in a home theater cabinet, the speakers point down inside the cabinet, so I mostly use a sound bar. Would have been great if it had better quality sound coming straight out front from the frame.
Pros: low reflective screen
Cons: shiny frame is too reflective
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mostlly satisfying 2nd HDTV purchase

I had the great misfortune to have my first HDTV die on me just before the College Football Bowl week started, so had to quickly research and purchase a replacement. Despite some fears over the commonly-seen motion artifacts LCD technology supposedly suffered from, I found the features and price of the LC60E88UN to be impossible to pass up. (My other candidate was a plasma HDTV that was nearly 50% more expensive).
Now that I have been using this unit for4 months, I am very pleased to say that I have YET to see any of the picture artifacts LCD is known for, and 1080p signals are ASTONISHINGLY sharp.
The only minor items I have observed with this unit are
1) The HDMI connections to this unit seem to be very sensitive. I have had a handful of occasions where the connection to my DirecTV console and blu-ray player have for no apparent reason been dropped. Fortunately this appears to be transient...but is very annoying.
2) The built-in speakers are a disappointment compared to the speakers on the DLP unit I replaced, which had speakers on either side of the display. The monophonic sound(there is NO apparent stereo effect from the pair of speakers this has) has been more of a step down for "general viewing" where I don't use my surround system then I expected.
3)Everyone in my family has found that we agree with others who have posted on the net that "Film Mode" gives the picture a very artificial look, generally called "soap opera effect". While I continue to play with that setting, the consensus in my household is the display is better with that setting turned off. (TOO BAD!)
Pros: amazing picture particularly with 1080p sources, no observed motion artifacts
