Great TV

This is a great TV, first LED we've had & we're still pleased with it. It has been demoted to another room only because of it's lack of size for the living room (we bumped up to a 55" ES7150). Easy to maintain and interface with other devices/gadgets both old technology & new.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: ir interface for 3d glasses, 3d glasses are hard to find

Grandmother and 3D TV? Why not!

I have had this set for one week. I did want to buy a Samsung but had no interest in getting a 3D set when I went to purchase a new TV. However, when I watched the demo and checked all of the features it offered, I was hooked. I bought it on the spot! Hookup??? Let me begin by saying that I am a 60+ grandmother, and not tech knowledgeable, as evidenced by the fact that my VCR flashes 12! To have the store come out to set up my system was over my budget because I also purchased a Samsung crystal sound bar and a Samsung 3D blu-ray player at the same time. I decided, I would try to set up the whole system.
The box was long, not very wide and thin. The box was not too heavy and surprisingly, it did fit in the back-seat of my four door mid size car, making it possible to bring it home. With the help of my husband, I was able to carry it to the den. It was at that point he shook his head and left for the day.
After getting all the products/connector/manuals out of the boxes, I began to question my sanity.
It did take me about four hours, one glass of wine, and one call to Samsung tech support to connect everything. The help line was wonderful. They were able to "dumb it down" as I requested and with their help I was able to set up the TV and all of the components I had purchased.
That evening I watched is awe! I felt that I was in a movie theater. The depth perception of this HDTV gives the feeling you are part of what you are watching. The colors required no additional adjustments, in the past my older TV sets required "correcting" adjustments. The design of the set is sleek and thin, although that was not high on my "must have" list, the design is great because the TV doesn't overwhelm the room. I have it on the stand not the wall, and it is surprisingly stable given it's size.
Features:
I wanted to be sure that we could access the internet and download movies, news, and utilize other apps. I was able to get that working temporarily, but my internet signal is weak, so I will need to get a booster, or set up another router downstairs. I did buy a HMDI connector to connect my cable box to the TV and used an optical connector to connect the crystal sound bar. The sound bar comes with a wireless base, which was one less thing to connect making it easier for me.
What I haven't done is to try and consolidate all of the remotes. I am hoping to tackle that over the long memorial weekend.
Bottom Line:
I never thought I would own a 3D TV, as I thought that was something for kids only, and to date, most of the 3D stuff out there is for children. However, to view the 3d movie that came with the glasses is awesome given I remember when TV was only black and white and had only three/four stations.
I would recommend this set without any reservations. The price was high, however I was looking at last years model without 3D and the price was similar, but I am sure that like most electronics it will decrease in price. The Set has many viewing options aimed at the type of video you are watching. The sound prior to the sound bar was excellent. The many internet features are great and the tech support is very very helpful. Set up was easier then I thought it would be, much easier then the old VCR which continues to flash 12.

This is a wonderful TV for the entire family.The 3D effects for movies are sensational.....not so much for 2D to 3D but I'm sure as 3D evolves TV shows will add 3D to their programming. One complaint... With the money spent on this TV you would think Samsung would add one or two HDMI cables and include the wireless adapter at no additional costs.

Excellent TV: Exceeded my expectations

* Amazing Picture quality
* great features like Internet Apps; Yahoo widgets;
* Accessing files from my laptop wirelessly by DLNA. It even runs FLV (flash video) files.
* Although my 3D exposure has been limited to the Monsters vs. Aliens, but the quality of 3D is great and is more than my expectations.

Cons:
* the tv is too bright and unviewable during the day. But could manage by it by setting the backlight to 9 (default was 13).

Conclusion:
Amazing Picture quality with Best 3D effect and superb sleek design. I am more than happy with my purchase.

Suggestion: If you are planning to buy a 3D TV go for at least a 46 inches TV (instead of 40 inches)

A Wonderful TV!!!!

I waited and researched for quite some time before purchasing this Samsung LED television. In a word, it's GREAT!!!
Excellent picture. Well, when viewed straight on. But, the side angle picture degradation is more than made up for with all the other wonderful features that this tv offers.

While researching the features of this Samsung tv, a lot of reviewers seemed not to like the sound quality of the television. I must respectfully beg to differ. I think that the sound quality is excellent, given the slim profile. I was expecting the sound to be bad, given the reviews I'd read, but was delighted to find that (to my ears) the sound is really great.
Most importantly is the picture quality. I'm astounded every time I sit down to watch. It really feels like being 'at the movies'. My family and I get such a big kick out of the excellent picture quality. This television was definitely worth every penny.

Great TV - Basic Remote Controller

We have had our new UN46C7000 46" 1080p 3D LED HDTV and are amazed with the quality and design. Even on channels that are not HD look great. The sound is very good even without our home theater system.
With such a thin screen there is little space for connecting HDMI and other cables, but the did it. Problem is that the connections are all positioned near the edge of the back side rather then in the center. Even on wall mounted the ugly cables show.
The worst part is that, even with all of Samsung's technology, the remote control is as basic as a 1970's remote. Even China TV;s have a keyboard built into their remote. Text on line? Use Skype? How can it be done with a remote having the 1~9 and not having the ABC, DEF on the remote? Samsung falls flat on this item.
Over all, it is a great TV/3D/Movie screen. Now, we wait for a remote that will match .

Excellent product for the value. Easy to set up. Was watching a 3D movie in no time. Would highly recommend a 3D LED LCD to everyone.

Amazing Picture Quality

The HD picture quality on this set is incredible! This is my first LED set, and so far I really like it. Incredibly slim and great styling is just an added benefit. I do wish samsung would get away from the piano black finish on the TV trim, as it is very hard to keep clean. The assembly and hookup on this TV was very easy and the included a/v adapters were easy to figure out also. There are so many audio / video adjustments, that I almost want an "idiots guide" to explain them all. I got the Samsung BD-C6900 3D blu-ray player with the TV, and the 3D starter kit to complete my first 3D purchase. It all hooks up easy and works great. The one downside is that there is virtually no 3D content available. (only 1 blu-ray 3D currently as of 7/19/10). The remote is greatly styled and works well. The Yahoo! widgets and samsung apps are cool and work well. Hopefully they continue to launch more apps... As others have noted, the Samsung wi-fi adaptors dont seem to work with Apple routers, but ethernet works great. While this is one of the more expensive sets on the market, I would definately reccomend it for someone looking for excellent quality and picture detail.
