Great print quality, speed, and features

I bought this printer as a replacement for my HP LaserJet 4 Plus network printer which bit the dust after over 1 and half million copies. It was less expensive to buy this one than to repair the old one, and the free shipping was a plus. I purchased it online with no difficulty at all. I have only had this one a short time, but it does everything I want it to do at a very reasonable price. If it lasts as long as my previous printer, it is an excellent purchase.
Pros: Compact, fast, great printouts, network printing, duplexing, great value for a laserjet and the toner cartridges are not excessively expensive. Not as noisey as my previous printer.
Cons: A little difficult to set up on a network unless you have networking knowledge. The documentation could be a little more comprehensive.
Overall: I gave it only 4 stars because of the lack of documentation and the slight difficulty of network connection. The features, performance, and printouts are outstanding. I would recommend this to anyone with a home or small business.

I like my new networked printer, at least so far (I have had it only a couple of weeks). Improvements over my previous buys: heftier paper trays, easier-to-use special printing features (multiple pages/sheet, double-sided etc.), works seamlessly with my computer.

Toner Cartridge Yield

The starter cartridge gives only 1000 pages. But after that the yield on regular cartridges fluctuate from 2000-3000 pages. I wish they had a gauge to tell on the display the available page count/toner level.

Excellent performance; fast page printing, crystal-sharp print quality, takes up minimal space, so quiet you barely know its printing, streamline style, overly reasonable price for the high quality. HP also has fabulous customer telephone support. DONT BUY DELL when you have HP!!!!

Printer works as it is specified to do. I have an old appliication that requires PCL5 printer and this printer has PCL5. Duplex printing is a nice additional feature that cuts down on paper useage and size of binders required to store printed documents. I like it a lot.

Great printer; funky drivers

Based on very little actual use, seems like a fine printer. However, there seem to be serious issues with either the HP drivers or their interaction with Windows XP -- issues which are not well documented on HP's website.
I tried for two days to get printer to work on direct USB connection. Printer recognized, but pages would sit in queue and report 'error' -- no output (though sometimes 1 page made it through).
In the end I surrendered and hooked up printer via network. That seems to sort of work; sort of. In searching for solutions, I've seen evidence of others having similar problems.

Great little printer for the money. Very fast on printint. Setup was a little harder than it should have been, but I got it working without any problems.

Very pleased with the print speed and quality. Will take a little more time to get used to all the features. Need a printed guide "for using". A quality product a a reasonable price. Good value.
