Unreliable ice maker
on October 6, 2010

French Door model. We have had the refrigerator almost one year, and had to have the ice maker worked on/replaced twice in the year. First time, it jams with ice and will not dispense. The second time, it would not shut off without opening the freezer door. Not a happy purchaser, and very disappointed that you cannot expect to have a reliable ice maker in this price of refrigerator.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best thing to happen to my kitchen in 25 years!

Since I don't tend to replace appliances often, I looked long and hard for a refrigerator that would suit my needs for the NEXT 25 years. This one fits the bill. I've owned it for 6 months and love everything about it. * It's sleek and beautiful! * Everything is at eye level in the wide upper level refrigerator - so easy on my back! * Ice maker in the door is brilliant! - saves so much room! (may not yield enough ice for high usage) * The bottom freezer is bright and accessible... ...and the tilt shelf in the door holds 8 frosty mugs beautifully!
Overall...I just LOVE IT!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

I have only had this fridge for a few weeks, but I researched my purchase for months. The fridge looks great and makes fantastic use of space in regard to the placement of the icemaker in the door. This new model introduces useful shelving in front of the icemaker which is not found on any other model (except the Kenmore who most likely buys their fridge from LG and private labels it since it has a practically identical design). I have heard of concerns with the small icemaker capacity with a lot of French door models, but I haven't had an issue with this one. Of course I don't expect it to handle a party, but it is fine for daily use for drinks. One of my search criteria were drawers that moved freely and slid easily. You wouldn't believe how many other manufacturers put junky drawers that stick and don't move very easily. The LG had nice drawers with decent roller glides (not just plastic on plastic like a lot of others). The only issue I've found is the scarcity and high price of the water filter required. I hope the price comes down and it becomes available from other manufacturers/sellers as time goes on.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, drawer construction and ease of movement
Cons: high price of water filter!

Excellent fridge with beautiful design

This stainless steel fridge looks beatiful and performs wonderfully. The front panel design with the water and ice dispenser is thoughtfully placed seperately as the water despenser is in front of the fridge which allows for easier access and abe to use larger cups without spillage. The placement of the ice machine is hidden and creates more open space in the fridge. The shelving is very standard with able to adjust the heights and levels, with one that you can slide to hide to open up for space for tall items. It performs very quietly, with no audible hum or any noise for that matter. The fridge light is one of the best i've seen which leaves the fridge very well lit.
the bottom freezer drawer is wide open with tons of space. the only downside is the lack of features for a high end fridge such as something simple like digital temperature.
Honestly the best feature is its beatiful design. It has high quality stainless steel, and very sturdy doors. One of the best looking fridges on the market.
Overall its an excellent fridge and highly recommened.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Quality, well priced
Cons: Features/Settings

This french door refrigerator is beautiful and it chill down quickly after initially plugged into an outlet. Owner manual claims it will take about 12 hours to make initial batch of ice, my fridge produced ice in about 6 hours. Its capacity is great compare to the same size side by side fridge. With the ice maker on the door, leaves that much more capacity for the fridge.
Pros: Features/Settings, Style/Design

FANTASTIC!!!

This fridge is AWESOME! Initially, we selected another LG model. It was a little less expensive, and I was attracted to the unique LG stainless steel finish (MUCH nicer than other brands versions of stainless steel! Sleek, modern finish that didn't smudge like the other brands). We ordered the first fridge, and then found this model later that evening online. Like our first selection, this fridge had the gorgeous stainless steel finish, plus French Doors on the refrigerator. It boasts a slide-out freezer door with an insane capacity! We love that this model also has a filtered water dispenser and ice-maker with options. The crushed or cubed ice feature is great, and we are able to produce a lot of ice quickly using the IcePlus feature. This comes in handy for parties, family gatherings, and entertaining large groups. The LED lighting on this model is sublime! We have really enjoyed the door alarm as well. If one of the fridge doors is ajar, the fridge alarm alerts us to close it. We do a lot of cooking in our home, so our fridge doors are frequently opened and closed repeatedly. The fridge alarm is quite helpful to prevent a door from being left open for an extended period of time. Overall, we LOVE this refrigerator!!! The capacity is wonderful, the design is superb, and our overall experience with this unit and with LG has been fantastic!!! We have, by far, the Mack Daddy of refrigerators - the most pimp of all the Pimpest refrigerators in existence, with this LG fridge! We LOVE it!!! FANTASTIC!!!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, pimp!!!

Great Purchase

Have had this refrigerator for several months now and are very pleased with our purchase. The unit is very stylish, has versitile storage options and runs quietly. A pecular design feature is that the water does not dispense from the same area as the ice. First time users will have water squirted on them or on the floor. One learns quickly, though. We especially like the ice dispenser housing built into the door allowing for more room on the storage shelves. In fact, this is one of the main reasons we bought this brand. The ice storage bin is a little small, but we have not had a problem keeping up with our needs (there are just two of us).
