I just made my second purchased of this fan today. I purposely searched for the Holmes brand on-line because of the satisfaction I had with the first one. Unfortunately, the original fan I had finally burned out last night. However, there are no complaints about that, because it was at least 10 years old. We have had it on every night in our bedroom. My wife relied on it every night, she especially could not sleep without it.
With the cheap product parts, cheap manufacturing and cheap labor that goes into so many products we consumers buy these days, I found the fact that our fan lasted so many years with such heavy use to be almost amazing! I don't normally write reviews, but I felt that I needed to share my experience with this product. If you are thinking about buying, I say go for it! You won't be disappointed.

I have used this same model fan in my home every summer for the last 7 years. I am now purchasing more to give to my son who has purchased his own home.
This fan has an extra sturdy base, unlike the plastic disc bases which take up more space, accumulate dirt and dust and do not look at all attractive.

Recently purchased Homles 16 inch with stand as I have enjoyed the one I previously purchased last year. It is powerful and moves plenty of air in my room to supplement my air conditioner usage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this exact same fan, that I have for the past 10+ years AND it still works. Love the 5 blades, very strong. Bought some other ones....3 blades could not feel anything, waste of money on those cheap vans. So I went to see if these fans were still around..and yup located and purchased 2. Now, I don't recommend this fan to anyone who wants to sleep with a quite whisper sound, when its on high. It is loud, unless you like that humming sound, like I do.

This is my favorite fan. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to purchase one on the Holmes website for a couple of years. What you will love about it, if you can find one, is the serpentine stand. It isn't heavy or bulky and can be moved simply by sliding it across the carpet. I own two but live in fear of one of them breaking down and not being able to find another one. That is how much I like them.
