Don't judge a mop by it's box!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I couldn't for the life of me figure out how a whole dusting/mop pingsystem could fit in this little box...it just didn't seem possible. Boy was I wrong...this box contains far more than it appears to!
First of all is the handle which requires very simple screw in assembly. I was concerned at first that it wasn't very sturdy. You aren't going to be doing any chin-ups on this thing or anything, but it's more than study enough to handle the task at hand.
Now let's talk about the flat part that holds the sweeping and mopping pads...I'll call it the head of the unit. The fact that the head of the Swiffer is so thin makes it ideal for reaching under sofas and other furniture to clean our hardwood floors. Perfect!
The dry dusting/sweeping cloths are the only things that aren't super wonderful. There is just no getting around it, if your floors are anything like mine, you're probably going to have to sweep up big stuff before using the Swiffer. The dust clothes aren't going to pick up runaway dog food pieces or beads your 8 year old has dropped on the floor, but it does a great job with loose dirt, dust and the dreaded dust bunnies.
Now, let's talk about those mopping pads. Some real thought has gone into these! I like using this SO much more than using a big, stinky ol' mop! Do your dirty work and then just toss the mopping pad in the trash...BRILLIANT!
All in all, I'm pretty darn impressed with how the Swiffer performs. Now, if they would just develop a dog food kibble picker upper cloth I'd be ecstatic!

Obsessed with the dry cloths!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have mixed feelings on the wet cloths in this kit. Overall, I think it's really convenient to have them on hand to quickly clean up something you've just spilled, but they're not very effective on dried, sticky messes or dirt that's accumulated over time. Although the scrubbing edge does help a little with these tougher messes, I found that it's hard to get the mop head to stay at the correct angle in order to actually scrub at the floor. They performed fairly well when used to clean up the juice I spilled on the ceramic tile in my kitchen, but they don't seem to stay wet for very long. I felt like I could only clean up a small area before the moisture was gone and I needed to change to a new cloth. All in all, they're good for quick clean ups, but no better than a wet paper towel, in my experience.
The dry cloths, on the other hand, are outstanding. I can't believe I've gone this long without these in my life! With a cat, a dog, and mostly hardwood floors, I normally have to use a stick vacuum every evening to pick up the dustballs that accumulate during the day. I thought that this was enough, but when I used the Swiffer, I realized that I've literally never cleaned under my furniture since the day I moved in! While the vacuum is way too big to fit under anything, the Swiffer effortlessly glides under even the lowest furniture to pick up all of the dust and hair that's been hiding back there for years. I honestly couldn't believe how much dust was on the cloth when I was done... I was horrified! The best part is, though, that even with all of that dust on there, I could still just fold up the cloth and use it to dust more delicate areas by hand. They actually do attract dust like a magnet - which means that I could easily grab the hard-to-reach dust bunnies behind my computer screen and clean my the blades of my ceiling fan without getting a face full of dust! They're also really gentle, so I could clean my new TV screen without worrying about scratching it.
All in all, I'm not sure I'll be buying the wet cloths in the future, but you better believe I'll have at least 2 boxes of the dry cloths on hand at all times.

Not the best option for our floors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used our Swiffer twice before deciding it isn't right for us. It does gather a lot of dust, but leaves dirt and other things on the floor. We have better luck with a regular mop on our floors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the Swiffer Sweeper is one of the best products on the market. I recently moved into a new home with hardwood floors and it has been a blessing. Moving things in during the winter months have been horrible, but I just grab my sweeper and pick up debris that has come in with the move. Thank you

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Swiffer Base Starter Kit and used it diligently for a couple of weeks. What a great surprise that it was so easy to use and that it did such a wonderful job. The dry cloths really cleaned up the pet hair and the small little bits of dust that I probably wouldn't have seen. The wet cloths were so easy to use and did a fantastic job of cleaning the floors. I was a little skeptical of this product as I never thought that they would work but boy was I surprised. I would definitely buy this product again and have told my friends that they should most certainly purchase it.

Swiffer Sweeper Base Started Kit Easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Swiffer Sweeper Base Kit. The kit includes a basic Swiffer handle and mop base. It also comes with both dry wipes and wet wipes. The dry wipes for sweeping, and the wet wipes for cleaning. The kit came in a thin light box that was a couple inches longer than a foot. The handle came in three pieces, but it was easy to put together. There were no screws or anything needed. I assembled it and was ready to use it in less than a moment. First I tried the dry wipes. Basically you place the wipe on the bottom of the mop then pull up the sides. Then tuck small portions in to little holes that open with pressure and then close to hold the pad in place. I kind of expected the dry wipe to be more of a magnet to crumbs and other things more than it was, although some things did stick to it. I found when I pushed it however that I could gather up quite a bit and it didn't leave little bits lying around like a broom can tend to do. Then I tried the wet wipe. I used it to clean up some dirty spots on my hardwood floors. Most of the dirt came up easily but I had to change pads to complete my kitchen as the first one got too dirty a one point and wouldn't clean any more. I like how light weight the Swiffer Sweeper is and I think it is great for sweeping things in to a dust pan. I also like how it cleans the floors, but since I have to change pads in between this is something that is maybe better suited for quick small or quick jobs. .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try this product out as I have a whole floor in the my house that wood. I am constantly sweeping up the dog hair and messes left behind by children. It was easy to assemble and I used it right away. I was amazed by the amount of dirt that was on the clothes that I didn't see on the floor. Then came the mopping. I do like the smell of the cleaner on the pads and it's nice to not have to mess with a bucket and cleaner. I do however think that while it is easy to use and works pretty well that it won't completely replace having to mop. However I won't have to mop the floor as often as before since I can use this in between which is much easier on my back. I will be purchasing more of the cleaner pads and dry clothes as I do like using them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Swiffer Sweeper Base Starter Kit converts from a compact box into full length duster/sweeper/wiper/cleaner by easily connecting a few lightweight handle pieces to the mop head. No tools required! There are ample wet and dry cloths to get you started and they easily attach to the mop portion. Small holes with "grabbers" allow you to easily secure the cloth around the mop head by simply applying some light pressure to keep the cloth in place. The dry cloths are great for dusting; perhaps too great. Their efficiency does mean they pick up EVERYTHING and you may need replace the cloth for bigger jobs. Same goes for the wet cloths. Overall the Swiffer is light weight and easily maneuverable and I would definitely recommend it for small touch ups on hardwood or tile. For bigger messes you might want to reach for that broom or vaccuum, but the Swiffer is ideal for keeping your home nice and fresh between deep cleans.
