Hands down the Best Cloth Sweeper on the Market

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for the Swiffer Sweeper Base Starter Kit.
I've long been a fan and user of the Swiffer Sweeper. I'll start out the review by saying if you don't have one, you need to get one asap. What is key about this set is that it is not only for hardwood floors. Rather, it can be used on any hard surface for dusting and with the wet cloths, cleaning of any spills or dried spots.
Taking the sweeper out of the box, assembly is pretty easy. You snap the pieces together and bam you have your sweeper. Next you take whichever cloth you need to use and attach that to the sweeper head by pushing it into the cloth pinchers located on the top of the sweeper head.
What is unique about the Swiffer Sweeper is that the cloth just picks up everything. The simple design of the sweeper head really helps to get into any corners and the arm of the sweeper bends all the way flat which allows you to go under obstacles in the way.
What I like to do is to go through the area I'm cleaning with the dry cloth first to get any dust and objects. I then put the wet cloth on and that really helps to pick up any dried stains or liquids that may be in the area. The wet cloth has a nice scrub pad on it as well which gets a lot of those dried up spots as well that may be on the ground (plenty of those with a baby around).
Typically with this combo, I'm able to clean any area quite well. There is one negative with the Swiffer Sweeper and I think it mostly comes in the form of cleaning an object which I don't think it's made for. If you have any dry larger objects on the floor (paperclip, chip, cookie, something else like that), the Swiffer Sweeper is not quite able to pick that up. When this happens I use a broom to pick up any of the larger objects. The Swiffer Sweeper is able to pick up everything else.
Overall I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. It is a product we use at least every other day all around the house and a must have to keeping your house clean.

New and Improved!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First let me start by saying that I have owned a Swiffer since they first came out on the market years ago. I still own and use that old Swiffer daily. About three quarters of my house is hard wood floor. I have a dog and two boys under the age of 12 so keeping the outside debris, food crumbs and dog hair under control is a daily effort. My one complaint about the old Swiffer was it's ability to pick up larger crumbs/ pieces of debris. I felt I would need to sweep first,, then go back over with the Swiffer. Well, this new version of the Swiffer really gets the job done without needed to sweep first. The pad of the new Swiffer has grooves which allow for those larger particles to get trapped and picked up. In addition, the pole is much longer so you get a little better leverage, and less of a back ache if you have a large area to clean ( which I do). So why only 4 stars? Well, that's because I'm also rating the wet pad functionality. I had never used the wet pads before with the Swiffer. I found several issues with them: First - the packaging. There was no easy tear or peel back tape to get the wet pad out. I had to resort to cutting it out of the package. Second, you need to unfold the two ends of the wet pad, enlarging it so you can tuck the ends into the top of the Swiffer, securing it in place. This is not clearly outlined on the directions and took me awhile to figure out. Your hands pretty wet and sticky from the solution on the pad trying to unfold it and attach it. Third, I really found the odor of the wet pad to be unpleasant. Once the floor dried, there was no longer a smell.. but it was pretty strong while wiping up the floor. Fourth, the wet pad doesn't last very long. You could use it to clean up a spill, but not wipe up your whole kitchen floor, unless you have a small kitchen- I don't.
In summary:
Pros- New pad design allows to pick up larger debris eliminating the need to pre-sweep Longer pole, better leverage and reach capability Comfortable Handle Cons- Wet cloth package ( single packages) difficult to open Attaching wet cloth not intuitive Wet cloth has unpleasant smell Wet cloth does not stay wet long

This thing makes my kids want to sweep

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have your kids ever argued over who gets to sweep the living room? Mine have. It was fantastic and terrifying. They are young elementary school students OBSESSED with pushing around the broom that picks stuff up and doesn't even need a dust pan. Get one now! It won't pick up big pieces of trash, just small things like dirt, fuzz, and hair. It's most useful after you've used a standard broom that gets crumbs but leaves dust in the corners. Oh, and it's super easy to change out the clothes. They snap right into place & come off in one piece. You can change them out in 1 minute, but sit down before you check to see if it's dirty yet. It sponges up and incredible and scary amount of dirt you didn't even see. Bonus: use just the clothes to dust! It's a twofer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a Swiffer years ago and decided to stop using it and use my vacuum. Since then my family has gained two children and another pet. With the holidays approaching I was very excited to receive this product! The pad of the Swiffer is much better quality than I remember, it really helped keep the cloth attached. While it doesn't pick up everything on my floor it is definitely a great help. It picks up pet fur and other random things, and what it doesn't pick up I'm able to use the Swiffer to push into a pile to one area and sweep up. I have not yet used a wet cloth, I plan on using when I have a quick spill or something to clean up.

Great for collecting dust bunnies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Swiffer wet cloths are very effective at cleaning light duty grime such as foot traffic, food stains, and general dust and dirt. It is difficult to scrub with the tool because it tends to swivel when you push too hard. The dry cloths were perfect at getting clumps of pet hair that was trapped around my refrigerator (see photo). It did not collect the cat litter strewn across my floors. A broom was better for particulates like litter, but the Swiffer cloths were great for dusting and catching cobwebs.

Clean floors make momma happy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having a baby who's on the floor a lot means I want clean floors. The Swifter is the answer!
I love the wet cloths- they clean small messes without leaving a residue or any stickiness whatsoever on tile & hardwood. The wet cloths do not spread messes either. The smell is decent and not overly chemical-like.
The dry cloths take care of dust, pet hair & dander without spreading the mess around. Being able to clean up after pets in the home easily is hands down the top thing I look for and Swifter is tops for just that!
Overall the cloths are amazing and the actual mop part is the perfect height and the cloths attach easily and do not come off when you're in the middle of cleaning. It also gets into harder to reach places a typical mop cannot. I will definitely continue to buy both the wet and dry cloths.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Swifter Sweeper start up kit yesterday! Everything was perfectly packaged and easy to assemble . So today I put it to the test . I have 2 Persian cats , a Pug, and a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel . I used the dry cloth first and it worked like a magnet trapping fur on my flooring . I followed with the a wet cloth and in less than 10 minutes my floors were free from fur, dirt and debris! Swifter is a winner in our house !!
