Pleasantly Surprised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Because of allergies, we have no rugs at all in our home. All of our flooring is hardwood or tile. I have tried many cleaning products over the years. My biggest complaint has always been either the dirt is moved/pushed around or the cleaner leaves streaks. Our floors aren't that dirty to begin with as we do clean them daily and only have 2 cats for pets. I was excited to try the Swiffer Wet Jet product.
Overall, i was impressed with the product. I swept the floors before I used the Wet Jet, to insure any loose particles were removed. I tried the Wet Jet both with and against the grain on the hardwood floors. Both ways came out very good with little to no streaking. On the tiled floor, it worked even better. The tiles had a nice shine.
I was shocked when I saw how dirty the pad was after finishing! It really did clean a lot of dirt on the floors!
There were a couple of aspects that prevented me from scoring the product a 5. First, the liquid cleaner bottle is very small. I literally used the entire bottle cleaning 2 small bathrooms, a kitchen, a family room and a living room. The rooms are not huge, so I was a bit disappointed that the entire bottle was gone. I also had trouble with the location of the trigger on the Wet Jet. Multiple times as I was mopping, I would accidentally press the trigger, releasing more cleaner. I think it would have been better placed further down the handle.
Overall I liked the product a lot. I will definitely continue to use it and would recommend it to others with hardwood floor or tiles. I would also love to see Swiffer make bigger bottles of solution or even offer the ability to make a cleaner at home that could be used to refill the bottle.

Really locks in the dirt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I know products can say they lock stuff in but the Swiffer WetJet Floor Spray Mop truly does lock dirt in. The mop glides easily across the floor and cleans great. The spray action gives a nice even spray and does not over saturate the floor. The pad has a scrubber on the bottom for the tough spot. As you can see from the back of the pad it absorbs the dirt deep into the pad so you are not spreading dirt around on the floor so you are always cleaning and not spreading dirt. The Velcro on the back (shown) is what holds the pad onto the mop

Could be better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am giving this only three stars for two reasons. One, I am not a huge fan of the smell of the cleanser the Swiffer Wet Jet Starter Kit comes with. I find it a masking smell that is just too strong and the scent lingers for days. Two, the mop itself leaves serious streaks on my wood and tile floors. It cleans alright, with some elbow grease. If it's just a quick in between clean, this is a great tool. But if you are looking for something to completely replace your mop and bucket, unfortunately this is not it. I will use this in between but I am still going to have to get on my hands and knees once a month to really get a good clean floor on both my tile and finished wood floors. I feel if the cleanser were a little more cleansing and smelled better, and the mop pad were a bit more "spongy", I think this could be a great cleaner for at least the finished wood floors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's amazing how easy the Swiffer makes cleaning our wood floors. It replaced every mop in the house and even better my 8 year old son thought it was fun to mop because of the spray action.

Not the Best Design and Not the Best Results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first Swiffer WetJet, and I have some likes but mostly dislikes. Here's what my first experience with this product was like ...
I pulled out the parts and looked at the pamphlet that was included with the kit. It was fairly well written, but I had a difficult time figuring out a few insertions (the rod into the base and the bottle into the base). Even with the "put the arrow side in and push into mop until it clicks" instructions on the bottle, I didn't understand that you also had to depress the button to get it to do so. That's a serious omission in my opinion. It's omissions like this that irk me .. why make it hard? From the package graphics, I thought the mop was going to light up, but now I understand that the graphic is illustrating how the spray comes out of the ports (to me, it looked like illumination).
A design flaw , in my opinion, is that the spray button is in a position where I kept inadvertently kept spraying out more product. I had cleaned a spot, and then I went to move the mop to somewhere else, and my hand touched the dispenser button which sprayed more product on an area that was cleaned and had dried.
It takes a long time for this product to dry, perhaps because there is too much liquid being dispensed out. I ended up using my microfiber cloth stick mop to go over the area to dry it up. I also had to use my microfiber mop because the product kind of left residue behind, even though it says it doesn't. The floors looked dry, but I walked over them after waiting quite some time, and there were footprints or treadmarks visible as a residue. That made more work for me.
Even when I picked up the mop to transport it to another area, I hit that blasted spray button again, and then I had to dry and clean up that spot .. very frustrating.
I have a love-hate relationship with disposable pads. I love that I can dispose of the nasty-dirty pads, but I don't like the environmental impact not the added cost. It was amazing how much dirt the pads picked up, but I didn't like the scraping sound of the plastic cloth on my floors. I don't hear that with my microfiber cloths. One pad didn't last enough to do my very small house without starting to push dirt around. My floors had been wiped down, but maybe it's because I have cats that the floors are dirtier? Seriously, I have a TINY house, and the pad only lasted enough to do my small kitchen and part of my living room before it started leaving wet grime piles around.
The scent of the liquid is a bit too intense for my tastes. It's pleasant enough but 3.5 hours later I'm feeling like I've got a scent headache. During the summer when I can open windows, it'd be OK, but it's cold today, and I don't want to freeze the house.
It's definitely convenient, but the design flaws made it more labor intensive than I would like. Because the spray button is located where it is, I wasted more spray through inadvertent touching as I pushed the mop handle as I was maneuvering the mop to clean. I thought the scrubbing pad was very effective, but I wish it was a reusable cloth instead.

Great for cleaning floors!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When my daughter was having a party recently, we didn't have time to do a full mopping of our floors. So we got out the Swiffer Wet Jet Wood Starter Kit and used it in the kitchen and bathroom. WOW. The floors were so much cleaner -- much cleaner than I expected them to be. And it was so easy! The one thing I wish it had though was a scrubber -- maybe something with bristles -- so that I could scrub the toughest spots with the Swifter instead of having to use something else for that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Swiffer Wet jet start kit was really easy to get set up as far as connecting the handle and installing the batteries. The cleaning pads attach effortlessly yet stay in place when in use. The cleaning solutions leaves my floors feeling clean and not sticky in any way. It's a bonus that it smells great. A very light, fresh scent that doesn't overpower our home. The Swiffer wet jet cleans our floors well and we have a dog and several indoor/outdoor cats. The Swiffer is lightweight, but is not flimsy. I don't have to push hard while using it either, a light touch is effective for getting the dirt up. I am surprised by how much I like the Swiffer Wet Jet. I used to have a steam mop that I would use all the time, but the wet jet is almost as effective at getting get the job done and is much more user friendly than a powerful steam mop. Since I got the starter Kit I have recommended the wet jet to my family and friends. The starter kit came with a small bottle of the cleaning solution to get you going. I have used the wet jet several times in the last few weeks and have yet to run out of the small bottle, but I have bought a twin back of the regular size cleaning solution for when I do run out. The starter pack also came with several pads. If your floor isn't super dirty, you can reuse the same pad a few times! I am very happy with this product and will continue to recommend it to others.
