Deadline-dead

Ordered a workforce GT-S80. Arrived seemingly intact. Problems with freezing after installation. I live in the middle of nowhere. All epson could do is suggest I take it too a service center. My deadline has passed and I am returning my unit. Too bad, looked like possibly a good unit. Support is paramount when it comes to matters like this as is time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better Than Advertised. Love it!

I searched hi and low and reviewed other fast scanners. Just before purchasing another brand scanner, I was able to test drive the GT-80. This scanner is every bit of a Workforce as the name implies. Fast, accurate and dependable. Have scanned about 8 boxes of paperwork, old tax files, financial archives, etc. Not one jam. I can also turn off, unplug from my Mac and then plug it into my PC and it does not skip a beat. See if that other scanner can do that. No!

This scanner is the best. I couldnt ask a scanner to do any more, without having to go into models that are thousands of dollars. The setup was easy and it works great. We use it daily (scanning both old and new files) and it has met and exceeded all my exprecations. I have since recomended it to a friend who has already bought one and is loving his. We may be purchasing a couple of more. This was my first Epson purchase, it won't be the last. Thank you Epson.

Worked Great Out of the Box

Bought one today, hooked it up, installed software launched a 43 document scan and it scanned in in less than 90 seconds. Paper did not jam.
Worked as advertised!
I would recommend this to a friend!

software is not fully functional for example preview icon is and deskew is greyed out
pause every three or pages to proceed further
is lagging behind from current feature like connecting to iphone with similar price from other company

A Real Timesaver

We purchased this scanner to scan our 100+ page Policy Manual. We had lost the original Word® files and needed to restore them. By sending 50 pages at a time through the GT-850 and producing PDF files, we zipped through the whole manual. We them opened each page in Word® and made the necessary corrections. Formatting was preserved very well and only a few glitches of special characters were noted.
A job well done. We are now scanning our paper archives to electronic files for preservation. We highly recommend this machine.
