[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At the age of almost 50, I have never had an over the range microwave before. Being frustrated with the lack of space in my kitchen, I decided to treat myself. I love it, the kids love it and it also much larger that the one that was taking up counter space. I can use it for so many more things.

Good purchase

I bought it about 3 months afo after my frigidare died after 2 yrs. It is a solid unit and was easy to mount myself. (well did need a small hand with lifting it up.). Light bulb blew a few weeks ago but that is a quick fix.

Whirlpool microwave

Purchased this to replace an aging Whirlpool microwave. Installation was straight forward and pretty easy. I had to replace the wall bracket, but the instructions were well written and clear. I did the complete installation myself. My wife and I both like the new microwave, it fits nicely in our kitchen and does an excellent job.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works great - but I don't like that the fan runs even when you're heating something up or defrosting. The van is very loud.

Great Unit thorough even heating

This was replacing an old unit during our remodel. I wanted affordable, reliable along with thorough even heating and this unit makes the grade. Glass tray turns inside during cooking to evenly cook or heat food. Many functions, light, vent, power settings, clock, I am super happy with my purchase and the price was defnintely right. I knew I couldn't go wrong with a Whirlpool!

1. Good. Being hard of hearing, I appreciate the much lower sound level.2. Good. Cooks faster than the older unit.3. Good. Appears to heat food more evenly.4. Not so good. Had to modify the old unit's space. Cut, drill, and trim.5. Not so good. One captive nut on top stripped out. Jury rigged fix.

OMG the clock is bright

If your like me you don't want your room to glowing blue... I retuned the item and bought the upgraded one with a standby mode so the light would shut off... All models should have this feature or at least a dimmer... Also all of the whirlpool microwaves have lights under them but they are in the back lighting up the knobs on your oven not the cooking area bad design
