Great options with the 48" 6 burner cooktop.

We are in the process of remodeling a 1960 ranch and selected this 48" KitcenAid cooktop to replace an older Thermador. We absolutely love the flexibility you get from the 6 burners. To say nothing of having the extra burners when you need them.
The simmer feature not he dual flame, 20,000 btu burners is easier to use and works much better than the old Thermador XLO burners
The only negative is the chrome, electric griddle. Everything sticks to it and it's harder to clean than the gas griddle we had before. If we didn't already have the hood in place I'd buy a 6 burner model and forget the griddle.

I have appreciated this cooktop with the exception of the griddle. It is useless as other reviewers denoted. And, yes, everything sticks to it! We have an older model and do not use this particular feature because cleaning is an absolute nightmare. I cannot understand why this issue hasn't been resolved by the design team, given the reoccurring theme here. I came to the KitchenAid site hoping it was longer of concern, as we would like to upgrade to a newer model. I will say that if this problem is rectified it would be a high quality competitor in my mind that I would happily recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for my new home. Love the griddle and the power burner! This cooktop has precise heating. I never cooked with a chrome griddle before - it truly does clean up perfectly and easily!

We have been using our 48-inch range top for over 3 years now and love it. We have friends with Viking and Wolf range tops, and their repair stories are common and long. I do wish KitchenAid would ditch the burner mix, and use the 20,000 BTU one for all six. It does everything we need, and the others are simply not flexible enough.

Horrible griddle

This product is great...except the griddle. It is completely useless because EVERYTHING sticks to it. I have tried different oils and temperatures, nothing works. Do not spend the money on this.
