Brand New doesn't heat at all. Defective.

opened the box, plugged it in, doesn't heat. I can hear sound as if it is working, light is on, keypad working fine, so there definitely is power. but doesn't heat at all, tried several times. How can a brand new microwave that doesn't heat at all pass GE manufacturing quality control? it is the one critical function the product is supposed to fulfill.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

LOOKS GREAT FOR A COMPACT

Replaced our GE microwave as I ruined it myself accidentally with the same one and love it! Looks great, fits into our pantry cabinet for easy hiding. Has cook power levels which I use all the time. It has a nice turntable too. Clock is easily set and it was light enough for me to get it in myself.
