I would highly recommend this camea. I have enjoyed it to the fulliest. I took on the road all in cold tempatures and it took very good pictures in the snow, in the dark and in the rain the pictures still come out clear. I am often taking pictures without the flash and they come out well in doors. I took pictures while driving and they came out perfect. I love this and you can't tell I was driving nor that I was behind the windsheild of a 18 wheeler or my personal suv. I have taken some awesome pictures from a distance and it look as I was directly up on the subject. I have no cons other than the batteries don't last long but this is ok. This is a duriable camera. Trust me it is all that I am saying it is. I keep it with me at all times in my purse. I have taken clear picutures from inside a building of something outside and you can not tell the difference. I like to take nature pictures and they come out well even for and amature.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life

Great little camera

Am still getting acquainted with all the settings, but so far it has lived up to my expectations. Like others have said, the on-off button is too small, but fortunately I have fingernails that solve that problem. The A and Easy settings have worked so well, for quick shots, and it takes wonderful photos in low light conditions without flash. I just wish it had a speed setting on the dial. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, Short battery life

I just love this camera! The pictures and video are great quality. One of the neatest features is how easily you can switch to video using the record button on the back. It is easy to switch back and forth from camera to playback mode, as well.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: batteries are expensive!

Fantastic little camera

I've been in the professional photography industry for 35 years. I've used medium format and 35mm film cameras and professional digital cameras. I've printed millions of images from hundreds of professional photographers, photo hobbyists and amateur snap-shooters. I know what quality is and I know how a feature-rich camera can help create great images. The SX210IS is a high quality, feature-rich camera. I purchased the SX210IS because I needed a small, light-weight camera for mountain biking and hiking without the bulk and weight of my DSLR, not to mention replacement cost if broken. I reviewed, studied and handled several compact cameras and crossovers and the SX210IS is hands-down the right choice. Its light weight and compact size combined with all of it's features was perfect for my use on a mountain bike. The image quality from the 14.1 megapixel, 6.16 x 4.62 mm, 0.28 cm² sensor is very good. It's image stabilization feature is great for shakey hands like mine. I have achieved sharp images almost every shot. If held correctly and and you control your shutter release finger you will get sharp images. The images are easily printable to 16x20 and can be pushed to 20x24 with very little image degradation. It's 5cm macro focus range is very good with sharp macro images. Battery life is acceptable but I recommend always carrying at least one extra fully charged battery. The large LCD screen is bright and easy to view. The menu is complex but with some practice getting into the most used features becomes easy. I'm amazed Canon can pack so much into such a small package and still have it create great images.
Pros: image quality, 14x optical zoom, excellent macro
Cons: complex menu, flash

Great Zoom, Video and PRO feautures

After waiting a couple of months for this camera, thank GOD I finally got it yesterday. This camera is replacing my great SD880IS. I've been testing it in different situations and have found it very impressive. If you liked the previous SX200, then you'll love this one. Nicer body style, it feels light, yet powerful. Flash can be hidden if not needed (not available before). It has so many options, Pro and beginner, like being able to manually adjust exposure, aperture, shutter speed are a big plus. Of course the greatest feature of this camera is the zoom, you get 14x optical plus 4x digital for an awesome 56x in total with great picture quality (I tested it today taking pictures of a bald eagle outdoors, amazing) Another great feature is HD video with stereo audio, which I tested this morning with a Mockingbird singing outdoors, stereo audio is great and video quality is very good and best of all, you get to use optical and digital zoom in video! Like I said, I've had this camera just for two days, but as of now, I love it. Made in Japan =)
It has so many options to play with, it will take me a couple of days/weeks to take full advantage of it.
Some of the cons I've seen are the widescreen, at some point is wasted because not all of it is used in normal use; I like better the regular 3" screen on my SD880. Still missing in-camera panorama feature. No HDMI cable included. You cannot erase images by date, instead you can erase within a range (start-end). On the black camera, you get some visible fingerprints (if that bother you). Compared to my SD880IS, this one is missing the Audio-only recorder (no big deal though).
Overall, great advanced point and shoot camera! Even-though it may look expensive, all its features/quality may pay for it. Easy to use with Professional features and awesome zoom. It feels very solid and durable. As always CANON rocks!
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
