VERY S L O W ! ! !

This camera is to slow to be considered a camera - a sketch pad might be faster. There doesn't seem to be a buffer and the save time to the memory card is agonizing slow. This camera would never be able to handle sports or children playing - you'd miss too many shots. It's too bad because it has a lot of nice features in a small package. As a reference my G7 shoots twice as fast and its an older camera. Faster memory cards don't seem to help much. I shot with a Class 4 and a Class 6 - no noticeable change.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: slow
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easiest pocket camera I have ever bought. Great price/value. Like the large view screen. Mainly like the quality of the images. Tried many other brands and this is the best. Can't go wrong with Canon.
Pros: excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Did not meet my expectations

I got this camera to replace my Canon PowerShot A630 which I used and loved for 3 years. While the ability to zoom so far with this camera is nice, it doesn't make up for the poor picture quality. The amount of digital noise in the photos is horrendous, even when shooting in well-lit situations with the ISO set at 80. I will be returning this camera.
Pros: excellent zoom abilities
Cons: picture quality is terrible, video quality is terrible, flash is in an awkward location

Good feel, poor pictures

Purchased on-line. Camera has a good feel to it and all controls operate smoothly. Unfortunately, the pictures were fuzzy and had an yellow tint to them. Couldn't track down anyone who could/would offer a suggestion as to why, so returned it for full refund. No hassles.I will take in a storage card and physically try my next camera before buying.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: Poor image quality

Good Telephoto Compact, Expensive
on September 25, 2010

Very good telephoto images.
Slow AF, you loose your subject until the camera take tha shut.
The new battery is lasting about 1h on HD movie recording and the quality is good, with details.
But the HD movie in MOV format with avc1 codec is crazy to edit. A VERY POOR SOFTWARE is provided for video editing: ZoomBrowser. This is not capable to trim and take out some parts of the movie. CANON THIS IS ALL YOU CAN TO OFFER????!
Pros: very good image quality at full zoom x14., effective is system pocket size, hd movie
Cons: very poor software provided for video editing, expensive., slooooow af

Image quality is amazing! I can work with apertur and shutter speed like a non digital camera. It's portable and easy to use. One thing I will say is the flash lense is the only thing that sticks out from the camera. if I would to ever drop it, it would probably be the first thing to break on my camera.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Where is the view finder
on March 22, 2010

pretty exciting 14x zoom in such small form factor.
But where is view finder and GPS? No matter how good the LCD display it is no good in bright sunlight when it is behind you. I know I cannot be the only one that needs to have one of these.
Pros: excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, no view finder
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been waiting for the PowerShot SX210 IS to be released for months now, I finally got it yesterday and I'm so happy! I have had many digital cameras over the years and canon is by far my favorite, very easy to use. Although with all the features this may take a bit. I'm very excited about the zoom and the 14MP in this camera.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality
I would recommend this to a friend!
