like a mini DSLR

This is an overall fabulous camera. The image quality and massive zoom is impossible to find on cameras of a similiar size. I used it right out of the box. My only problems with it were its short battery life, lack of features(like panorama, etc), difficulty with shutter speed at night(which come to think of it< is to be expected in any camera), and the fact that the interface is a little difficult to use. But still great!!!!
Pros: excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor Low-Light Performance, Short battery life, Complicated controls/menu
I would recommend this to a friend!

Takes a long time to get pictures from camera

I havenn't been totally happy with inside shots, particularly portrait type shots. Exposures are all over the place. Outside shots are really quite good.
My big problem with the unit is when I try to take pictures from camera to the computer.....really, really slow. My other brand is really easy to take pictures and go directly to CD Burning, and that quickly. I can't even figure out how to make that work with the Canon.
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, difficult to get pictures from camera

Powershot sx210IS

The quality is good for a point and shoot, good for close ups. what I don't like about it is the flash location and hard to quickly adjust the zoom lens bar. The bar is to close to the on-off button and all the buttons are really small. Other then that it's a good little quick shot or good for close up photos. It is compact and extremely light weight compared to the slr style one! It's a good novice or hobbiest camera!
Pros: light weight and compact, good quality
Cons: flash in the wrong spot, small buttons

Great All-around Camera

Outstanding image quality, and huge benefit of ability to use AA batteries. (I use rechargeable NiMh AAs.) Camera is a perfect slightly larger size, which makes it easier to hold than those smaller compact cameras This also helps prevent the user from inadvertently pushing the wrong buttons. Reading the Owners' Manual and correctly using the available multitude of features virtually guarantees great images.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Best Quality, Best Price

I absolutely LOVE this camera. I previously owned another brand but my pictures were consistantly coming out blurry. I'd been looking into Canon for several months now and originally had the SX130 picked out. But after shopping around I found the SX210IS for an awesome price and couldn't pass it up. I was a little nervous at first about purchasing a brand I had never used but I am ecstactic that I chose this camera. It has excelled all my expectations! My pictures come out verly clear and I love the setting where I can change the colors of the pictures!!! I never realized how bad my other pictures were until I had some from this camera printed and could see the difference on paper. I would definately recommend this camera over and over again!
Pros: good battery life, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

Disappointed

I have been extremely disappointed with the quality of the pictures I have taken. I have an older digital camera that takes great pictures but I wanted to upgrade from a 4 times zoom to the 14 times zoom with the Canon. The quality of the pictures taken indoors at concert events are no where near as good a s my older camera. Many pictures are not clear as they should be and trust me I'm no beginner at taking photos. Pictures are dark, fuzzy and poor quality. I even had other people attempt to use the camera and they said that no way would they buy this camera. I just can't recommend this camera
Pros: good battery life, durable, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Poor image quality, Poor Low-Light Performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

good camera but expected better

it a good camera, i got it because i love my canon rebel but wanted a pocket camera yet i wanted with a good zoom capability's, the zoom is great for a pocket camera. the picture quaility is strange though i've gotten some great shot but most pictures have a funny look- i can't quit explain a dotted haze look. it more on low light pictures but when in full screen can see all the time. action shots arent as good as the canon rebel either but i expected that. as for video recording it does a great job, sound recording a little spotty, it goes out from stearo to mono but i am basing that on a firework with music show i recorded, other sound recording worked fine. so in the end picture quaily i expected better and is my biggest let down( i had high expectaction and is my first 14.1pixal) other wise great oh and battery life great too. pictures only last long time vide recording i been able to record for avg stright hr and take picture through out the day. recording defently take a lot more power though.

This camera is a disappointment. I bought this camera because I needed to replace a camera and I need the 14x zoom. The photos are not crisp and clear. The image stabilizer does not offer much help. I am trying to locate a printed copy of the "Camera Users Guide" that comes with the camera on a CD. So far, it seems that I must print the 180 pages to have it handy when I am using the cameras. A condensed version is available with the camera. Cheaper cameras that are owned by family members produce better photos.
Pros: Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Poor image quality, Difficult to use, Complicated controls/menu
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
