Good for Beginners

As the title says, this camera is good for less experienced users from my hour of experience with the camera. First of all, the build-quality is excellent, the camera feels good, and it has an impressive size. Without any programmable buttons, the manual features are slow to use, and the shot speed is a bit slow which is typical of mega-zooms. The ISO lacks settings and does get to be more noisy compared to the S90. There are not too many white-balance settings either. I found the 14x zoom to be very slow, and the placement of the zoom to be awkward. The 16:9 monitor is another con, since 4:3 is more common. Overall, adjusting pictures on this camera to be perfect is a slow process and can easily caused missed shots and compositions. The HD, 4 extra megapixels, and tilt-shift/fish-eye modes does not make this camera worth it to someone who wants excellent and fast pictures. Although, it is much better for more casual users who would not be using the manual settings much. For a more advanced user, I'd recommend the S90 (especially with its F/2 lens) or G11 if not a dSLR.
Pros: durable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, slow
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought 210 last weekend after my 850 gave out. So far I am impressed and its working well. I was worried about the first reviews I read on a couple other sites. To my enjoyment/ amazements, I have not encountered the same experiences. Iwas set to get a return on the camera based on other reviews until I read some positive ones. I kept it to try. I am pleased so far. I wish there was a hardback owners instruction included besides the quick users guide. Lots of Questions. So far so Good. I am pleased.
Pros: size and quality
Cons: quick focusing on the lens is a trick to get used

Great little camera PowerShot SX210 IS

It took me a while to convince myself to get a digital camera but now I could kick myself for not doing it sooner. I have the Canon PowerShot SX210 IS and I love it. I'm having so much fun clicking away and not having to worry about running out of film. I do keep an eye on how many shots left and battery status but it's great to be able to shoot at will. The camera is easy to carry and I love that it is a 14x. I find it amazing how close I can get to some things. People who have looked at the pictures while still in the camera are amazed at the quality. I haven't even gotten into the manual operations yet. I'm still using the automatic setting. I would highly recommend this camera.
Thanks, Cannon, for such a great little camera.

Great Camera

I really enjoy this camera. It is much better than the previous camera that I had. The pictures are clear and I love that I can use the zoom lens on videos. My only con is that the software to upload the pictures is tedious and confusing. When I try to upload to the software, my computer memory is filled up and the pictures do not upload properly. It takes a long time to delete pictures and upload them a few at a time. There has to be a better way!
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: software, issues with uploading pictures to computer

Camera I was looking for!

I received this camera for Mother's day and love the features. My husband and I researched to find the best camera for me and this was it. I am able to take indoor zoom pictures without the pics turning out black. Although the flash isn't in the best location, I love the compact size and will work with the pop up flash! Its easy to use and read dial and on screen messages are wonderful.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, excellent image quality, easy to use
Cons: flash location, case unavailable for purchase

Disappointed

I was really disappointed with the Canon Powershot SX210. The pictures were not sharp and had a soft look to the picture indoor and outdoor. I thought the camera was defective and exchanged at the store for another one. When I got the new one home had same issue with a soft picture. I owned a Canon Powershot S50 5MP camera prior and it gave crystal clear images. I thought a 14 mp camera would be at least as clear if not clearer. Store will not accept a return now.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable

Excellent Camera

This camera is one of the best I've owned, especially at the price. Can't say enough good things about it. Has plenty of features for those who like to play w/ the different settings but also easy enough for those who like to point/shoot. zoom is great, pictures are super crisp. About only thing I would say is that batteries don't last too long but only need to bring along a couple of rechargeable AA's and you're good to go.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life
