Excellent camera as good as digital SLR

If I can only take one camera to carry with me this will be the one. Excellent all around. Amazing picture quality including sharpness of the lens. The 3.1 widest aperture helps depth of field a lot. 1600 ISO is great I can get great night life picture without using flash. 14.1 megapix make the 1600 ISO grain tolerable (correct easily in PS).
BTW: people who complain about picture quality or screen not so bright should read manual (screen brightness is adjustable) and take some photography class and learn how to use advantage of the high ISO or just get the more simpler one for the amateur like the Powershot ELF. If you don't know how to work those buttons may be you shouldn't get this camera.
I don't like pop up flash, shutter lag and the autofocus when I use Macro. It seems to miss with yellow "!" most of the time.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, varieties set up including manual, adjustable flash level, great lens
Cons: i don't like pop up flash, macro autofocus not working quite often, slow shutter lag

Great camera!

We love this camera. We bought it for a trip we thought our D-SLR would be too big as this camera is smaller, lighter, but had many great features. It performs like our big camera with equal quality. The battery lasts forever and with the Joby Gorilla-pod it was an ideal combination on our trip. My wife and I were very pleased with the quality of photos it took, as were friends that saw the pictures.
The only draw back is the flash pops-up right under your finger when you turn it on, no matter how hard you try not to place it there (stubborn habit to break). Luckily, you can maually open it to alleviate that ill-placed finger.
Other than that, this is a great camera.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: pop-up flash location

Great camera, BUT:

Been using the camera for a couple of days. Takes great photos and video. I love the long zoom in a camera of this size. I have to deduct 2 stars because of no viewfinder in a camera of this price and the stupid flash that's in the way of the left hand and pops up when the camera is turned on. Also, the on/off switch is hard to press as it is almost flush with the top of the camera. Need to use a fingernail to work it.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, great zoom, hd stereo video
Cons: Missing features/settings, no viewfinder, pop up flash in the way, on/off switch dificult to press

Great Camera!!

This camera is just great. Many features of an SLR in a small unit. Great photop results in all situations. Easily changable manual settings as well as great auto and semi auto functions. Nice and sturdy. The flash position is a little strange but it is no real hassle. I like the pop up automatic flash in that it can be manually opened and closed as well. I am totally happy with it. And the price is excellent for what you get. Such great photos and features. The HD video is a plus as well and has stereo audio.. I would not hesitate to buy one if you want a new camera.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, easy to use

I was considering to replace the model sx200, but after shooting a beautiful sunset this weekend, this camera did not match the feature "sunset" of the sx200. The colors of the sx210 were not as it appeared in the real sunset.
The zoom is great, specially in movies
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the size but I do not like the picture quality. The flash location is very poor and its hard to hold in your hand.
I wish I could return it!!!
Pros: Nice features/settings
Cons: Poor image quality, Poor Low-Light Performance, hard to hold in your hand
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
