This isn't your mothers washer!

While your mother machine may have lasted 25 years. This one won't you well become good friends with your washer repair man as he will be visiting often.

This product has average features and good design

I love almost everything about this washer w/ the exception of: I wish the top loader door was clear so i could see what was going on inside and also I wish it had a feature stating where in the wash it was. Ex: washing, spinning, draining, etc.Other than that it works great for me and all my kids messy clothes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It does not come close to doing the job my 1974 Maytag that it replaced. The clothes are tangled and VERY wrinkley. I miss the wonderful old Maytag I had. This new model does not come close.

Disappointing

Purchased 2/2010. Had to repaired in 2013. Had to repair in 2016. And now in 2018 the main bearing is shot. Cloths can tangle more than on prior machines. Sorry Maytag you let me down on this one.

This is the worst maytag I ever had.

This washer cannot handle heavy loads as was advertised. Big tub but can only handle one third of tub to wash. Will screech and stop running if put more than 1/3 of tub in. Does not have center piece for balance inside so have to keep opening and re arranging clothes to keep machine running. Matching dryer is even worse.

I love my new range!

Stinks!

Although I follow the owner's manual and the customer service advice for keeping this unit from smelling like rotten eggs, it continues to stink. It holds water in each of the dispensers and the factory service repair man told me that "that is just the way it is." I use a turkey baster to remove water each and every time I wash. No one should have to do that if the product is made properly. I was astonished that Maytag did not have a better grasp of this issue (nor care anymore than that)!

Would not buy again!

I have a washer and dryer from the Maytag Bravo collection. I have had 4 repairs on the dryer in 7 years and the washer needs an entire electrical panel after 7 years which will be the price of half the original cost of the washer. The company was not helpful because it is after the 5 year extended warranty time and simply chalked it up to "it is a man-made product and we can't always guarantee they will last". Since when do you need to replace an entire electrical panel after 7 years and at that price I may as well replace the machine. The company claims their products should last 10-20 years. Not in this case!
