I received my SONY DSC-W350 camera for christmas this year; and can't believe how impressed I am with it. Having always used Kodak cameras, I thought they were just amazing; but this sony has blown kodak right outta the water. The functionality & options combined with how easy it is to use, make this seriously the best value camera in its price range. The zoom is incredible; and when using the 16:9 HDTV compatible option for photos, the camera can do its full 4x optical zoom, but can then zoom in a further 5x to give you a whopping 9x zoom! With three different shooting modes (automatic, part manual or fully manual), this camera can take someone from being a complete novice; all the way up to borderline professional in one small package. Its ready to shoot within about 2 seconds of being switched on; and is also extremely easy to switch between photo, panorama & HD video (just the flick of a slider). Just.brilliant.
My only :( is that it doesn't seem to have black&white or sepia options - but with the other amazing aspects of the camera, those options are hardly worth noting (not to mention it's really easy to do those edits digitally later :) )
Pros: Ease of Use, Quality, Value for Money, Design, Durability, Features
