I had to replace my washing machine (again) and was very excited when we purchased the LG washing machine with the steam feature. I was so happy to see it performed as well as I was told. My clothes actually turned out cleaner than before! This machine has so many options for washing laundry. I have washed everything from delicates to queen sized comforters. I wash most clothes on the speed cycle. You can change the temperature, the amount of spin and set how dirty the clothes are. I have actually washed AND dried a load of clothes in 30 minutes! When I wash sheets and towels, I use the sanitary cycle to be sure to kill germs. The steam-cleaning feature is amazing and I have been surprised how often it is used. Between my teenage boys and large dogs, my washing machine never seemed to rest. I can now do all of my laundry in one day with the quick cycle. I have even helped neighbors when they had a lot of laundry to wash and little time to get it done. They could not believe how fast their clothes were ready. At this point, my washer is the best appliance I own...hopefully LG has made this product to last for years to come!

A purchase you won't regret...

We've been using this washer now for a month, and feel it is one of the best appliance purchases we've ever made. The only open question is longevity, but have every hope that the quality we are seeing will make longevity a non-issue.
The washer is aesthetically beautiful, mechanically sound, quiet, and feature rich. The cost pushes this washer out of the lower price range, but you will feel as if you are getting what you pay for.
LG appears to have taken advice I often give: vendors should use the products they sell. There are a number features that would seem too insignificant to advertise, but which really enhance the usability of the machine (and were missing from our prior front-load washer), such as the location and design of the dispenser drawer, the presence of a drain hose and accessible filter basket, the magnet that allows the door to stay open for ventilation but not interfere with room traffic, and the ease with which you can customize the cycles to your liking.
The most important thing we can say about this purchase is that it makes us seriously interested in looking at other products by LG, as the need arises to replace items in our home.

First Impressions

We received our new washer today. We have done 3 loads with it. We washed our dog smelling queen sized comforter - and it doesn't smell like dog anymore. We also used the Sanitize, and Allergiene wash cycles with good results. Our 3 yr old son loves to watch the clothes spin round and round, but he and our 2 yr old daughter already defeated the child lock in short order... That's our only complaint.

Cons: child lock not really child proof

The washer cleans well, uses less water and is very quiet. My only problem was with an overload which tried to wash for over two and a half hours before telling me to adjust the load, then tried again for another hour before telling me to adjust the balance again. Seems to me it should be able to detect the load is too large or it should stop sooner for a manual rebalance.

My wife and I are very very satisfied with our LG purchase. We also bought the matching dryer and we can definitely see that our clothes are cleaner, and that our energy bills are going DOWN.
We recommend the LG washer and dryer

Big and Beautiful

I have owned just about every make of washer and dryer over the past 40 years and without a doubt, my new LG is the best. It is quiet, efficient, cleans wonderfully--including dog bath towels. The settings are easy to understand and the various options are just what I wanted. The tub is so large that I am doing half the number of loads I did before. Thank you LG for a great product.

Lov'n my new Washer

In the past 10 years I have gone through a few of the older style smaller-capacity water-wasting non-efficient washers. In those 10 years I could honestly only claim twice, "I got all the laundry done today" Both the water bills & laundry piles was VERY-HIGH. With our family size of 6, I had on average 30 loads of laundry to do every week - due to the smaller capacity washer we had - and that does not include the linens on the beds. (I AM SERIOUS about that # of LOADS/week)
We have looked at the front-loading washer/dryers for the past 4 years and FINALLY found a Large Capacity that has all the features we really wanted to have. THE BEST PART, "THE LAUNDRY IS DONE!" I pretty much pick 1 day to do all our laundry, and it is done in 6 loads. YAY!!!
The "Brightest-Whites" saved a really nice pair of new white slacks that I would have otherwise had to throw away - after I accidentally slid into a creek we visited on a hike. (I know, who wears white on a hike? Obviously, ME ) I chose to stand on a mossy-covered rock angled like a slide. Yeah, I slipped and slid right down the mossy-slimy rock. The pants were stained with black, brown, green slime all up the butt and side. When I got home, I washed this pair of white pants on the whitest-whites setting with oxy-clean and spray n-wash after the 3rd wash cycle all stains were completely gone. And the pants look brand new. With my old washer, no amount of wash cycles would have ever got that stain out.
Love it, Love it, Love it. My husband and boys, all say it's fun and makes them want to do their own laundry.
Plus there is a bonus, a really nice melody plays when the machine is turned on, turned off, and when the cycle ends.
Our laundry room is also our Bonus room in our house, which is where my office & music studio are located. I have the washer & dryer running while teaching and they are so quiet that it doesn't interfere with the lessons or practice.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, capacity, whitest-whites-ever, super-quiet, pleasant melody at end of cycle
