My Dream Dryer

I am a single grandmother with 4 grandchildren living with me. Ages 1, 5, 7 and 10 along with 2 adults. We do laundry daily. Since I, as well as a couple of my grandkids, are severly allegic to multiple things, especially dust, a steam dryer was a must for us. I researched all the brands out there and decided on LG because of the 'True Steam' feature. Steam kills dust mites. I wanted real steam. When I checked the other brands that said they had 'steam'. What they had was a cycle that sprayed water on the clothes during the drying cycle. This is not steam. Throwing a wet wash rag in at the end of the cycle would do the same thing. LG had an actual steam compresser built into the dryer. That was exactly what I was looking for. The others said 'yes' the dryer had steam, but when I asked if they had a 'steam compressor', they swithched me to a supervisor. That when the B O L O G N A started. They never did admit they did not have a steam compressor but tried to imply they did. I never write reviews, but this grandma was so impressed with this dryer, I decided to let all the grandmas and mom out there know how good it is. Actually the model DLGX3876V is NOT the most expensive model that LG has, but it is the best one. Sorry LG, but I think the ladies should pass up the highest priced one and get this one. Do you homework ladies. You will be back to the DLGX3876V. You can save $100 by getting a different color. After all, you only buy a new washer/dryer every 20 yrs. or so. You might as well get what you need. I also bought the matching dryer. It will be coming in at the end of the week. I will give you my review, good or bad, after I test drive it for a while. Anna

I Purchased this dryer and ordered all the listed parts that were needed to have the unit installed buy the retailers install service.
After the old unit was removed and loaded on there truck, I was informed that i needed to change the orifice to have the unit run on L P Gas.
Now I have to wait to use the dryer until I can get my gas supplier can get the part and install it.
It would have been nice if this was made clear in the product literature so I could have had all this done while I had use of my old dryer.
Pros: can not use it to tell.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a top of the line dryer. Excellent features, excellent performance, super quiet, and very efficient, not to mention stylish and good looking. I would not buy any other machine if I had to do it over again. This is a great product. I highly recommend it.

Awesome washer

I researched several brands before going with LG and I am not disappointed. I find the machine relatively easy to use and I love the options. I have used the steam feature and the allergen option and find them a nice feature. Though many reviews were upset with the time it takes to do a load I have no issue with that. Yes, it does go longer than a top loader but this machine is is still superior. The only thing I have found a little annoying is the signal alarm (tune) when a cycle is complete - too soft even on the highest setting. Room for improvement there. I have only had this washer for two months (actually just shy of) but really like it.

Great Machine

The only problem I have is selecting just the right cycle so the heavy clothes are dry enough at the end of the drying cycle. A couple of times my dungarees came out a little damp. I admit that I have not had the machine long enough to learn about the tremendous amount of features it contains, so I will blame myself for this deficiency and not the dryer. I am very happy with my purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this back in 2011. I am a Dad with dirty kids. I think they change cloths 3 times a day! I pack it FULL, just like my LG Washer, it dries everything! Reliable piece of equipment.
