Casual Home User Only

This monitor was incredibly lightweight at about 5 pounds and made all of plastic, it is completely different than my old heavy HD monitor that just died. I do like the fact that I can feed an HDMI cable from my DVR in to the back of this LG E2350-SN, consequently HDMI carries audio and although there are no built-in speakers, there is a single small headphone jack on the middle back as well. The software running this monitor has a volume control that you can access with a number of button presses on the front bottom-right area in the bevel of the monitor that are finger-touch buttons that when powered off, are completely invisible totally. You can only see where to slide your finger to when the power is on as they are very small blue-ish dots. Complimentaring those buttons is a wave type of stripe that is lit up when powered on, as it fades on and off when your computer makes the monitor go to standby (sleep), or the system goes to sleep as well.
There are no color-correcting controls as LG describes this monitor as for home use only, and not someone who needs exact colors on their screen that match exactly their print, someone who is very serious about art and print coloring.
I currently have the monitor at a 90 degree angle so that it is standing very tall and narrow. This is done via the software on my computer which allows me to rotate my screen at any of the four angles. This allows me to see a standard website page from the top, often all the way to the bottom without having to scroll down at all. When the monitor is turned on its end vertically, the coloring and the lighting of the monitor screen slightly change if you lean left or right at all. Just as you would see this same effect if you moved your head up and down when the monitor is set at normal widescreen.
One thing that is kind of cool, but don't get too excited about it. There is a very small light-sensor on the front of the panel that detects how bright your room is and when activated on by the software (that you need to install with the CD that accompanies the unit) which slightly changes your brightness on the monitor as it tries to compensate for what the environment demands. But it worked at first, but now I am having some problems getting that function to work again, as I am running MS Win7 x64 on my PC and connected via a D-SUB (VGA) standard old type of connector.
I have a cord plugged from the headphone jack on the back side of the monitor that finds its way to the aux input port on my 6-speaker audio system which thumps loud and hard while the volume is controled with the controls on the monitor, but again, it takes maybe 5 or 6 button presses on the monitor to find where the volume control is located so that you can turn something down. In other words, if you switch the input from some port to the HDMI port and have audio/video traveling through it from your VCR or DVR or X-Box or many other types of equipment with more and more things being developed all the time, like a number of video-streaming devices such as many Blu-Ray Players that maybe stream Netflix movies and TV shows, well then this unit could be used like a television set, except you would have to purchase a seperate remote-control perhaps, depending on the setup of your entire system and what you are doing with it.
Overall, the basic quality of the picture seems to be quite good. I was worried at first as I am with any major (major for me) purchase. But I took off all of the protective plastic that is stuck to it upon packaging meaning that I committed myself to liking and keeping this monitor right from the start as more often than not, I will return purchases unless I am totally thrilled with whatever it is I am investing money in.
I also enjoy the fact that when in the standard widescreen horizontal setup, that you can use the supplied stand that connects to a pole on the back of the monitor which sets the monitor up a few inches from the desk. Or, which I prefer, you can keep the base stand in the box it came in and use this pole on the back side of the monitor as a type of pull-out kick-stand type of pole that allows the monitor to rest flat on the desktop and it just leans back slightly, or more so if you adjust the pole unit on the back. Realize the you usually have to firmly push and hold down a safety button on this pole that protects it from adjusting itself and possibly falling or something. That is what I use when I have the monitor horizontally so I can watch television, or a movie or something via my computer or my DVR. Or I sometimes turn it vertically like it is now which can be beneficial at certain times, as well as easy to do because it is so light. I actually just have a couple of thumb-tacks pushed in to my desk that holds my monitor in place as it rests on the shelving behind it, which I like. I also have different thumb-tacks pushed in different spots on my desk so that I can choose from a few different spots that kind of like 'lock' the monitor on the desk to prevent any movement.
So yeah, I do actually like it quite well, with just a complaint about the access to the volume controls takes a few seconds to get to it, but besides that, it seems to be a good decent monitor that also has a DVI input as well in which I haven't mentioned yet. Also realize that audio can only travel through an HDMI type of cable, as this may be important when deciding on how to set up your whole system, whatever type of system that may be, maybe even a video camera surveilance system with cameras mounted around your home. But this monitor is ready to take on many types of tasks. Also make sure you understand that even though you can use it much like a television, that this monitor does NOT have any type of TV tuner in it at all, nor any type of speakers either. It's just an important piece of a complete system.
Oh, it also looks like you can't use any type of standard or universal stand with this monitor. Almost all televisions nowdays have something that fits a universal mount, but I don't see anything of the sort on this monitor.
I've only had this for two days so far, so this is an early assessment. I hope it keeps on trucking for years and oh, it has a 3-year warranty! Very cool!
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings, Quality, lightweight, volume control

This is the second LG monitor I have purchased and the first LED LCD I have owned. The picture quality on this monitor is amazing. The touch controls are a nice feature and the power saving mode is nice as well. I like the options to change the environment through either touch panel or computer software (unfortunately this easyset software is not compatible with Windows 7; so I can't use it).
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: needs faster hertz response time for bd movies

Well overall the monitor is very good, i have had it only for about a month and theres nothing I don't like about it. Easy to navigate, all you have to do is just connect it to your Pc and your done. The cd that came with it didnt help much but you don't need it trust me. Overall 5 stars. I would recommend this 23' monitor to any one who is looking for a new monitor. Lg overall is a great quality company my TV, monitor and washing machine are all from LG!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, connect it to your pc and it works easy as that, works with ps3 as well [hdmi]

Great for Xbox Games and Movies

I am so thrilled with this monitor. I have it hooked to my Xbox 360 with the HDMI cable. My Turtle Beach Headset is hooked to the convenient headphone jack. I play so much better on it than on my 65" HD tv. I even find myself watching movies on this vs the Big screen tv because the picture is AMAZING. I would buy it again which says everything.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, Features/Settings, Quality, no gaming lag
Cons: preset colors are to blue

This is a wonderful monitor, i have had it for well over a month and i spend a majority of my day using it. It has a wonderful picture and i have found that the ability to hook speakers or headphones right into the back is VERY useful. There are only 2 problems i have found with it, #1 black levels are fine but when it is not givin' a direct signal to a location on the screen it just stays gray (in wide screen movies when there are black bars across top and bottom of the screen), and the second is the CD that comes with it, i (for whatever the reason) am unable to use the Dual Web or Cinema mode, i have tried multiple reinstalls and it just doesn't work, but save these two things i would say that this is a fabulous monitor and i would recommend it to anyone.
Pros: Style/Design

Excellent monitor - major improvement over my last competitor's monitor that had a stroke. Brilliant picture, sharp clear text, and full HD.

Almost Perfect

I am a hardcore gamer, and I got this monitor mainly for PS3/XBOX360 and Dual Screening my computer. It's just like any other LED but it's a good deal for how much it's worth. My only problem was the stand.... Although it has a nifty way to set up like a picture frame, it is very fragile. Other than that it's a great buy, for games, movies, and tv, whatever...
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, Features/Settings, awesomeness

Great monitor.. great stand

This is more of a comment than anything. I'm writing to let you know that you've done a great job with the E2350V monitor and I hope your company continues to make products like this. One of the best features of this monitor in my opinion is not just its quality of display but also the two way stand which I haven't seen on any other monitor.
I have eye strain problems and 95% of monitors come with monitor stands that are way too high for the user. Your eyes are supposed to be level with the top of the monitor and these stands don't allow that in a lot of cases. However, this 2 way stand allows the monitor to sit flat on the desk but still be held upright by the stand behind it. I think this design is great and I hope you continue to make products like this for people like me who have eye strain problems. Something as small as having a stand that allows the monitor to sit all the way down really helps. In my opinion you should include the two way stand on every monitor you make.
