[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've bought the vacuum 4 years ago, I use it three times a week and just been washing the foam filter as suggested but it did say to replace it after 6 mos of usage along with the pleated filter which I've just slammed it against a wall to knock the dust off it and it's been ok for the last couple of years.
