I was just looking for a basic microwave to replace an old one. After several research attempts i decided on this model. The features on this model beat all others for what i was looking for. I love the fan feature it has. I have this microwave above my stove. While i was using the self clean on my stove the fan to the microwave came on due to the fact the stove was giving off so much heat. I loved that. Also the microwave will not start if the door is not latched all the way. The microwave will display check door, another plus. This model was recommended in reviews that i read before i bought it.

MW is well built &has easy to use features. Works well for all types of food & re-heating is a snap. Great feature is the automatic fan goes on when heat from stove/oven goes over the prescribed limit.

I wasn't expecting this model to be so deep (distance from face to wall), but I'm glad because the extra inches that stick out from my shelf is where you find intake vents on top... which is why I moved my rice to another shelf. See if you can get a top view before buying. Installation was mostly painless.

We have been totally pleased with our new Whirlpool 1.7 cu. ft. Microwave Hood Combination: it is quiet, efficient, and beautifully designed for easy cleaning. It has every feature we need, and the panel is the ultimate in user-friendly. Highly recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] New home, new mocrowave. I like that this is simple to use. Some try to be "high tech", and just no need for it. This keeps it simple and gets the job done.

I love the defrost and softening features. The defrost works perfect for meat (without cooking it) and the softening feature will gently soften cream cheese or butter.

Bought Stove, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, and Microwave two years ago. Microwave magneto is dead. Purchased new Whirlpool Microwave a month ago and now have "rust spots," all over the door. Whirlpool....NEVER AGAIN.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
