We purchased this item since our old one (different brand) finally gave out. I am amazed at how quiet it is...the old one was extremely annoying and we could never talk while it was running.The stove light is properly located to shine on your range. The exhaust fan is so much quieter than my last one and vents very well. The ending "beep' is a bit louder than we like, but it can be muted, as per instruction manual. It is very large inside and cooks / reheats perfectly.

This microwave is sleek and modern looking. It is overall an average microwave. It cooks HOT (sometimes too hot, causing food to burn). I've tried to reduce the cooking power to 80% but it doesn't stay at 80% of the power level. It needs to be reduced to the power level each time it is turned on. The display is also difficult to read.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The microwave came with our home purchase but I couldn't be happier with it. It was brand new when we bought the house. Love the 30 second button, I use it constantly! I don't use my microwave to cook in so for basic reheat and defrost, it's awesome.

My thoughts on the Whirlpool Microwave

We have had this appliance for about 2 weeks and so far it has performed well. It is a little quieter than our previous microwave and seems to use less energy, the lights don't dim when the device is activated. Both units were rated at 1000 watts. There are two things I would like to have that this device does not have, one is the ability to dim the blue clock, it is one bright clock. Second, being able to control the volume of the beeper would be nice. Other than these two items the microwave seems to be a well made appliance.
