I purchased Turbo Tax. It was sitting here on my computer. Why is it necessary to keep signing in every time I want to use it.
I don't need or want this type of security. Next year I will explore my options as to what tax hardware I use. Can't stand your procedures.

This was my first year to purchase and use any software for tax preparation. My accountant of 25+ years retired and moved away.
I compared Turbo Tax's final compilation to my accountant's from last year just to see if I could find anything amiss. It all looks good as far as the proper forms for my situation.
The software appears to be thorough and comprehensive.
I will use this again next year.

Well organized with help to understand archaic and convoluted IRS terminology and rules. Easy to navigate between various views and switch between forms. Like the ability to attach additional backup info to specific entries for future reference.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Imports data from previous return. On-line help.
What's not so great: Did not fully support all the required forms for NH state taxes. No version support for 1041 forms on a Mac platform.

Confident calculations

After a couple of years of using an accountant, I went back to doing my own taxes the last two years because I couldn't see what added value the accountant was giving me compared to TurboTax. By the time I had all the info for the accountant, I felt like I could enter it (or better yet, download it) myself for a lot less money.
I feel like I have a better idea of what impacts my taxes when I do it myself. And I am relieved of the pressure of doing any of the math work myself.
What's great about it: Turbotax does the calculations, fills in the right blanks or right forms
What's not so great: Sometimes hard to see where info is entered, if you are looking to see that a certain item was recorded
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Have used Turbo Tax for several years, but was able to e-file for the first time. Much easier than I anticipated.

Rocky start for Turbo Tax

When first released I did purchase competitors software because of issues of release. I am still ticked off about that, release should have been delayed before all was corrected!
I am sure your competitor appreciates this mess up on your part!
However, using your software for 2013, I thought it best to stay with Turbo Tax for 2014 after you released updated version.

Normally I have had good luck with your program but this year because I sold about five Partnerships MLP and LP's it was very difficult. The instructions I got from you weren't enough for me. It took a while to figure out that using your step program I shouldn't have put the sales price and basis in and several other problems. Teeday LNG Parners L.P. is based in Bermuda and your program doesn't work well with that. One more thing that proved to be a problem. I just e-filed for the fourth time and hope it is accepted. Ron
