Tried and True

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years now. It makes taxes much easier than doing by hand. I always review the forms before filing to ensure items have been handled correctly. Sometimes I have had to go back and correct numbers or worksheets. I will continue using Turbo Tax as long as it stays economically feasible. This year having to upgrade to the next version was a shocker.
What's great about it: Automatic form generation based on answers
What's not so great: Had to upgrade to higher version to have same functionality
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Just don't understand why I didn't qualify for the AMT or the tax deduction. TT should highlight these differences from prior years to show why or why not you get more. Basically more detail in the "why is there a difference and some tips on how to increase your return this year or next. Maybe some tutorial videos.

What's not so great: Explaining the AMT

Easy Refund

I have been using Turbo Tax for 5+ years and it's very user-friendly. This year I found the services that required a connection to the Internet - such as upgrading to Premier - did not work and I had to call a number during a certain time. The available phone call-in should be later during tax season. Also, I would have purchased the Premier all along if I saw the cover clearly. I found the new cover to be confusing.
All in all, I'm happy but I think you need some upgrades for next year.
What's great about it: easy to follow, user-friendly
What's not so great: didn't connect to the internet easily, required to update to Premier, hard to understand cover on CD

Repeat Turbo Taxer

I have used Turbo Tax almost every year for the past 12 years. I was unpleasantly surprised about having to upgrade just because my wife cashed in few stocks from her employee stock purchase program. I sure hope you include that in the Deluxe software next year. Overall I am pleased with your product, I expect to continue to use Turbo Tax in the future.
What's great about it: I love the way you upload info from last years return. For the most part your instructions are easy to follow.
What's not so great: I had a difficult time understanding what info you was asking for from my 1099-DIV/1099-B form.

Tax time

I like that turbo tax is easy and friendly to use with plenty of help available. I did not like that this year I had to upgrade to Premier for an extra $30 just to do one 1099B and one 1099DIV
What's great about it: Tutorials
What's not so great: had to upgrade to finish

As a first time TurboTax user I found the program extremely easy to use. The process was intuitive and gave me confidence that my taxes were being prepared and filed accurately while ensuring I maximized my return. I will definitely be using TurboTax for my yearly taxes going forward.

Good Product - Bad Decision

I won't buy this product going forward based upon their poor marketing decision.
What's great about it: Product was easy to use - fast - well written and guided me through completion very well
What's not so great: Cost of product and bad decision to not advertise how they split out part of product to more expensive version
