Conversion from Deluxe to Premier
on April 9, 2015
Posted by: Ffiledtoday
Have used Deluxe for years. Conversion to Premier seemed to handle some of the areas with different terminology & prompts that were difficult to follow at times. Had difficulty making corrections in some of the 1099 areas to the point of having to call support twice. Did get EXCELLENT HELP both times from Barbara and Sue W.. Many thanks to them.
What's great about it: Program dragged most info forward.
What's not so great: Terminology differences, awkward to make corrections.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax was great for my Capital Gains and Losses. Saved a lot of time by receiving the data electronically.
What's great about it: Great job and I have confidence that my return is correct.
What's not so great: Got a little confusing at times. Probablly my fault.

Another Tax Year without Heart up against Adenoids
on April 9, 2015

Filing tax returns is most probably very few people's idea of fun. I have used Intuit's TurboTax for the Mac platform for over ten years. Thanks to Intuit's continuous improvements to comprehensive robustness and to ease of user interface, my filing experiences, while not exactly fun, are certainly technically enjoyable to produce and reassuring in their rock solid accuracy and tax rule appropriateness. I usually take the "Easy Step" approach; however, I have often stepped out to manually use individual forms or schedules to then seamlessly return back to exactly where I was before. A flexibility I greatly appreciate! My Mac and I will be looking forward to next year's date with the new TurboTax ;-) .
What's great about it: "Easy Step" just gets more so each year/TurboTax more robust
What's not so great: I have none for this year's edition.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

rental property calculations
on April 9, 2015
Posted by: rental1
the change to remove rental property calculations out of deluxe and move it into a higher cost version of the software makes me need to review using other means to calculate my taxes next year. I have used deluxe for many years and have been VERY satisfied until now.
What's great about it: i have used Deluxe for years and it works fine
What's not so great: deluxe will no longer do rental properties, and the software will cost more in the future

What's not so great: None that I have found
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

RENTAL INCOME ISSUES
on April 9, 2015
Posted by: BAKERBLUES
THIS YEAS WORKSHEET DID NOT BRING UP THE WORKSHEETS FOR RENTAL INCOME. I HAD TO ASK IN THE HELP SECTION. IT SHOULD AUTOMATICLY TAKE YOUR TO THE PROPER FORMS.
What's great about it: PULLED INFORMATION FROM PREVIOUS YEAR
What's not so great: IF I DIDNT KNOW HOW TO PULL UP THE RENTAL QUESTIONS I WOULD HAVE OWED TAXES.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
