This is a great program, I recommend you do your taxes without going some where with all your paper work. The program walks you through.

Love Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and love it. The program is user friendly and has good instructions. Taxes can be difficult for some and Turbo Tax makes it easier.
What's great about it: Ease of use, great instructions

Pretty Easy

Most of it was pretty straight forward, however Schedule D instructions were somewhat confusing. Luckily from previous years I knew where to put info but it took me a while to get my carry forward loss entered. Also, If you're due a refund, why doesn't the program just ask if you want the refund applied to the next year's taxes instead of making you hunt for the option?
This was my second year using Turbo Tax and I will use it again. Just wish it was a bit more user friendly on some things.

Still Helpful after 25+ years

Have used program for many years with a couple of exceptions in unusual years when needed a person. Initially confused basic/premier? Thanks for the auto upgrade - think this was appropriate. Why does initial cost not include free state - box should clearly state additional to file. Initially confused as to how to change info in some fields - then figured out the color code.
What's great about it: helpful with investment items
What's not so great: had to go back thru contributions all way just to add a change

I like to do my taxes so that I can get an understanding of how my financial decisions will affect my tax liability. I have always prepared my own taxes since my first 1040EZ in 1973!
Been using Turbo Tax for many years with increasing complexity of my tax situation. My one complaint is that it is time-consuming and frustrating to move around in the interview. I find I can get pieces done but if you have to go back sometimes you have to work your way forward in the screens Sometimes answers seem to revert to a default and you have to read and check each screen. I get anxious that what WAS correct, might not be so in the end.
I found the interview overall not as smooth flowing this year as it has been in the past. That said, my return was abit more complicated with the sale of a house and first year with both retired. Still, I'm done and confident.
Now, can we get Congress to make this any easier? Good Job Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Downloading is Great! Federal Form has fair explanations
What's not so great: State interview seems vague, but I understand the anomolies of 50 states!
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

TurboTax 2014 Usability

I like TurboTax and have been using it for years. I don't like that there was no help included with the program. Accessing the TurboTax Help Center takes you to the TurboTax Community site. When I tried to find help about what the program was asking me to do the only option seemed be searching the TurboTax community. I expect more from a program that I am spending good money for.
What's great about it: Interview style
What's not so great: Lack of program help. Only help is TurboTax Community.
