TurboTax Premier for 2014 works for me

I've used TurboTax for several years now. I like the fact that you can import info from the previous years. This saves a lot of time. Since I have investment income, I use Turbo Tax Premier. I find using the step by step interview process the easiest way to get through the tax prep ordeal. Filing electronically is easy...just wish the fee for filing state returns was zero.
What's great about it: Easy to use via Step by Step interview
What's not so great: Why can't State Filing be free too?

Right program Excellent results

I've been using TurboTax for many years. This is the first time I needed the information about cashing in investments. Everything I needed was there. Easy access and proper questions to lead me through the process. Quick and simple.
What's great about it: Ease of data entry, All topics covered in software
What's not so great: Online copy would not transfer 2013 return into program. Puchased program on disk, 2013 return uploaded no problems.

Great Product

I have used turbotax for a number of years and find it easier to install and use every year. Being retired, my taxes are not too complex, and with the ability to download all relevant information from my investment service, I find it easy to follow the guided steps and complete my returns. I also have found ItsDeductible to be helpful. It definitely makes tax preparation and filing less painful. Now if we could just get lower tax rates.
What's great about it: Inexpensive, easy to use, complete for my needs

Have used TurboTax forever. Was disappointed to discover it did not pick up on the fact that the exact same statement from a brokerage had been imported twice.

On-Line Problem; CD installed much better

I initially tried using the On-line system. Got all the way through to paying for it, then was told I could not submit electronically because of a "K1" form that needed to be fixed. I am a retired software engineer, and continued to receive instructions from the "Community" on how to remove the K1 form. None of the methods worked, and the On-Line system was conspicuously absent any real employee assistance. I wound up going out and buying the CD version, which allowed me to submit successfully just as in the past. Yes, I had to pay twice for the software. I recommend use of the buggy On-line system only if simple tax situation.
What's great about it: Walk-thru guide, audit likelihood assessment
What's not so great: "Community" problem resolution
