Initial information on how to handle 1099-K was not clear. After spending way to much time looking at the help forum and then finally getting to the right IRS publication this was resolved. The bottom line is there should have been some better info on this topic in particular ones from AIRBNB that clarified that if it was from short term rentals and rentals were for your residence and less than 15 days of rental, nothing needed to be done with it. For other rental situations beyond that then refer to IRS publication 527. Secondly for capital gains on sell of stocks and for dividends it would be nice to have some info explaining the tax rate and the fact that they are subject to an additional 0.038% tax both dependant on filing status and income.
What's great about it: Walked me through new tax situations I had to properly file
What's not so great: Short on dealling with 1099K and explaining some tax rules
Pros: I bought or sold investments

1. when ready to file, a page said that audit defense was free, then the next page wanted me to pay for it. I called audit defense and they said the free thing was unknown to them, and besides, if I paid them directly, the real audit defense cost less, so I did. 2. I was never able to make the printing come our full size. The preview looked fine, but the printing came out half size. My printer is set OK. It prints everything else just fine. Not T/T FDF files. Changing the print scale had no effect. This is rotten.
What's great about it: basic instructions and calculations are great
What's not so great: printing didn't work, and audit defense was misleading

I have used TurboTax products for about 10 years now and I love the completeness and Deduction Finders built into the software. I especially like the "Its Deductible" feature for computing value of donated items to charity I have used this function since it became available and the IRS has never questioned any of my charity deductions. With that said, the price for delivered software has increased steadily each year and now the program does not include certain basics such Schedule C for a home business and Rental Properties. They are now asking the customer to buy $$ an upgrade to use these products that were normally included in the purchase price. I file approximately 10 returns a year for friends and family and will continue to use Turbo Tax until they price themselves out of the market. Overall I am satisfied with the product and would recommend it to others, with the previously noted review above.
What's great about it: Ease of Use, Finds every deduction
What's not so great: As of 2014 no longer including schedule C and Realestate Rents
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I have a simple rental and had to upgrade this year. More money for Turbo Tax. I don't like that.
What's great about it: catches errors
What's not so great: Deluxe package is too limited

I did not like having to pay for Home & Business. We have an S Corp and had already used Turbo Tax for that 1020S Filing. Once I got stuck into that I never could proceed. Had to completely redo my taxes on another computer using my Turbo Tax Premier disc. AND stayed away from upgrading to Home and Business. This needs to be FIXED for others.
What's great about it: interactive
What's not so great: not explicit enough when forcing me into Turbo Tax Home & Business.
