Changes to Turbo Tax

Difficult to apply refund to 2015 Estimate.
Difficult to find estimate forms for 2015.
Reason for upgrading to Premium was poor.

What's great about it: Not Much
What's not so great: This years version has got to be the worst ever since I started using Turbo Tax in 1995.

Easy but could be easier

I love Turbo Tax. I have used it for 20 years. My only complaint is that when I review my return prior to filing, many of my answers are not saved and have to be reentered. Other than that, it is perfect.

A Tool that Gets Easier to Use Over Time

I began using TurboTax several years ago, and sort of stumbled through it without really understanding how the elements fit together. Before TurboTax I had a tax pro do my returns, but it was expensive and I didn't learn anything. Now, in retirement, I have the time to sit down and run the numbers through TurboTax and I'm finding it goes a little faster and smoother every year. The best part is that the numbers, once they're crunched, really paint a picture of what happened over the previous year. Doing taxes is like going to the dentist, you know it's going to be painful but you know you have to do it. TurboTax is the right tool for a nasty job.
What's great about it: Straightforward step by step approach is good.
What's not so great: Like all software can be balky and unintuitive.

Better Clarity...

I like how H&R Block software has pop-up boxes to explain specific entries as you go along through the forms. I prefer Turbo Tax because of it's ease of doing the taxes, printing and filing. I just wish there was an easier, more efficient way to get the info needed to better understand some of the information that is being requested.
What's great about it: Most questions are understandable and well explained.
What's not so great: When you need assistance it is difficult to fnd the answers you need.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

All good in the end!

I was all good, until the end. The automated ordering of a state return (CA), via the internet did not work, so I needed to call. Also automated (online) ordering of state e-file did not work, so I needed to call again. Just took extra time to get that done, but wasn't a big deal. It would have been much easier to order these features online. Technical issue? Maybe the ability to order online was inoperable at the time I tried. 4/9/2015 at about 9:00 am MST.
What's great about it: Easily walked me through, easy to return to review areas
What's not so great: had to call twice for ordering state and e-file via credit card. It did not work online.

Good experience

You can see from my record that I have use this product since it was called MacIntax. It is better every year. Please do not publish my age - I am 82 years old and I find this product exceptionally useful.
What's great about it: questions were appropriate and clear
What's not so great: I had to do some things several times to make sure I understood correctly but that is probably not a negative

Cost and sequence of steps need to be improved! Never knew if I was completing correctly.
What's not so great: Purchased premier addition and had to pay additional to file state? I thought by purchasing premier all costs included!
