Needs Some Help

Had problems installing on Windows 7 systems. Wouldn't install on my desktop so I had to install it on my laptop.
I had problems with my federal return. It was difficult to declare and reconcile my NQSO sale. Got all the info in there, but still not sure it's entirely correct. Some of the areas needed to add the info are buried and difficult to even find. Once you find it, it still doesn't make sense. Just had to do the best I could with it. Got all my fingers and toes crossed.
What's not so great: Difficult to insstall. Difficult to use if you have anything out of the 'ordinary'.

Not as good as last year

I've used TurboTax for many years. This is the least competent version. Where are the estimated tax forms? Where are the State estimated taxes? This used to be included in the final package. I'm likely to use TurboTax next year because of my history, but not because it is the best program any longer.
What's great about it: Good review process; easy to input data
What's not so great: Requires upgrades to be adequate; does not handle state well

Difficult return

I have found that the software covers my needs, but it does not always give me the input I need ahead of time. I have to get into it and figure out how to use the abilities of the software.
What's great about it: Most of my instances are covered
What's not so great: Doesn't always anticipate what I will need

Software was buggy

Overall, the software works good. However, when I got to the part where I actually had to file & pay to file, I received errors multiple times (bad scripts running on the page), where I then had to go back and try again, where it required me to re-enter my credit card info all over again. After 3 times I was getting fed up. 4th time worked. I had similar issues in other places. For software that has been around as much as TT, and the fact that the software should not have to change much year after year - these types of bugs are unacceptable.
What's great about it: Entering & calculating taxes was easy
What's not so great: Filing taxes was full of bugs & crashes

Have used TTax for about 20 years. It just keeps getting better. It caught a questionable entry downloaded from my broker in the review process. Correction was quick and easy. Will probably continue to use it in the future.
What's great about it: Easy to work with. Last year loads all of the base info so just have to add current year.
What's not so great: Not happy with the Delux vs Premier issue.

Love the program. Has made filing taxes much less burdensome for an older person as myself.
What's great about it: Very thorough and well layed out, well documented and explained.
