Turbo Tax made it easy for me to complete my taxes. It was easy and accurate. Checked for errors and made it a great experience for a first timer.

Great product with hiccups

My payment process was not easy prompting me to go through several operators to rectify. I kept getting different values to pay including double payments for state filing and higher than previously quoted audit defense cost. Finally rectified with separate payments, one on the phone and one online.
What's great about it: Thorough and comprehensive product that is relatively easy to use.
What's not so great: You already know that changing the Deluxe product was a mistake. Enough said.

You're losing a long term customer

Ruining TurboTax Deluxe is totally unacceptable. It's an insult. Reimbursement is not an adequate way to regain trust. I can't imaging what management was thinking.
On a much smaller issue I find the program is difficult regarding a small consulting business. I had to go to forms because the program insisted on depreciating a car even though we don't want to do that.
What's great about it: Familiar. Have used TurboTax for 30 years.
What's not so great: Deluxe change is totally unacceptable. Fee for state efile is not competitive. Friends using other software are happy wi

There were a couple of places where the 2014 version asked for data from a certain line in the 2013 form (like carry-forward credits) that it should have known but still asked for it. This is annoying.
What's great about it: Gets better every year.
What's not so great: Data transfer from previous years
