Happy with the software, but not with the company.

I was disappointed to see that the Deluxe version, which I've been able to use for years, suddenly didn't have access to schedule D. Looks like Intuit just wanted to made some more money. Deluxe has gone up in price significantly since I started using it many years ago. Now I have to buy an even more expensive version for one form. This is making the tax man look more and more cost efficient. Will have to think twice before continuing with Turbo Tax
What's great about it: Software is easy to use
What's not so great: Turbo Tax made selecting the right version VERY difficult this year. Looks like greed took over with added version.

too much $ for state filing

Your charge is too hi for the state filing and your preview copy of turbo tax is too hi. I can purchase copies in January at a lower price than the early copy you send. You should charhe the opposite: discount the early copy sent automatically

No more worries

tax time used to be a nerve wracking ordeal. now, I just keep my records in order and breeze though the return, certain that I've done everything correctly!

Old Computer

My poor old computer could not handle the printing of the various forms. This failure to print did not stop the e-filing.
What's great about it: The clear prompts were a pleasure to follow, and made the entering of information very easy.

TurboTax is the only way to go!

For basics like income, itemizing, etc., TurboTax is great. The software basically walks you through the process. This year I had some additional income that was new for me, income from the leasing of mineral rights. I did not feel that TurboTax provided enough guidance for me to easily report this income. I think I finally figured it out, but it was a bit of a struggle.
What's great about it: Easy Step Walk Through
What's not so great: Not enough help on 1099-MISC (for lease of mineral rights)

Good product, but minor changes could help a lot

Every year I try to e-file my AZ return and it never works, even tho I call the help desk..
It would be a time saver if you would allow me to:
- ALPHABETIZE charitable contributions
- enter charitable contributions, medical expenses, etc during the year, AS THEY OCCUR, rather than having to bunch them all up at the end. Both are great USABILITY enhancements

What's great about it: Fairly easy to use, saves a lot of calculations, includes state returns as well as federal
What's not so great: AZ rtn e-file has not work, need a way to enter deduction/income data during the year to make it easier at tax time
